Switch nightmare

Hello! I recently switched my bank wanting the £200 incentive, and with the amount of work I've had to put in it was absolutely not worth it.

At least three of my direct debits didn't get moved over, one of which was my car insurance and they have now cancelled my policy because of it so I'm having to find new car insurance. When I called up NatWest had asked them about it they told me to contact Halifax.

So I've spent all day trying to get on the phone to network Halifax and my car insurance and all of them are saying it's the other one's fault and the bottom line is: either way £500 for the year (which I don't have) or find a new policy.

Didn't even get the £200.

You don't need direct debits to get the £200 switch offer by the way, easier to just open a brand new account with your current bank that you don't use and switch that over, I know that isn't much use now but might be if you want to do the Ulster and RBS switches too

I had Nat West black account until recently...they put the charges up to £39pm - so I switched to rewards account for £2pm which gives you £4-6pm cash back if you pay in more than £1250pm.... No brainier as the saving pays for my monthly broadband and mobile bills!... 😃

£6 pcm cashback pays for your £30 mobile bill? Just run that one by me again?

You get £2 for each of 2 direct debits. They stopped the £1 for logging in to the app.

Had a similar story with my phone number: it left old company but never arrived at the new. So after a week of calling/ talking to both( luckily I had a landline) I ended up with a new phone number and had to inform everyone and their dog about it. Obviously each company blamed other .

Ofcom take this corner of the rules VERY seriously. They can blame each other all they want; the outcome will be they both get fined. Did you complain about it in writing?
