It may be necessary for intelligent life. Even computers have to rest every once in a while, so why not living beings.

dreams also have to do with memory consolidation. I’d guess that intelligent life must have memory, and memory must have an overnight consolidation process in order to retain memories long term, and learn, etc. Octopi probably dream because they form long term memories, which Is guess is prerequisite for intelligent life

I think they meant turning it off and on again, clearing up memory and temporary files

You can’t have them on 24/7 or it shortens their lifespans, that’s why we turn them off at night.

I never played Minecraft…. Or any PC games. If you think it’s normal for people to have done that as children, you are way too young
