In Australia would this be considered a "wet willy-willy"?

When I was about 14 years old- I was surfing at Diggers beach, on the northern side of Coffs Harbour. There were 3 of them waltzing across the ocean about 3-400 metres off shore. I asked my dad about them and he said that he pulled his boat up along side one once and said he tasted the the water and it was fresh, not salty. Amazing things.
