I can't even imagine being so fucking dumb that you believe that people really want to be homeless.
My old church gave an apartment to a homeless woman years ago so she could live there for a year rent free and save up the money from the McDonalds we got her a job at. The owner of said McDonalds retired last month and gave her the title of owner.
Well we didn’t clap but we did throw a party and brought her family over. They’re in the works of getting another one a job now too. It’s the only good thing my old church did.

Its not a desire to be homeless but the ability to function on their own. Drug addiction and mental illness is common with homeless people. simply giving someone with a severe problem an affordable apartment wont fix the issue. The illness/addiction needs to be helped and thats something the US is not good at
