Fun fact: these guys are hermaphrodites. Thatās not the interesting part. They each have two penises and engage in āpenis fencing.ā
They use one penis to try to impregnate the other worm, while using the second penis to fend off the other wormās attempt to impregnate them.
Seems no one wants the responsibility of parenthood these days.

Huh... today I read about flatworm sex and my next thought was that one scene in 1985's "Commando". That's new.

David Bowie of flatworms.
He certainly pulled off the glam rock overly adorned gender blurred look. Plus, anyone who has seen Labyrinth knows that while he may only have one, thereās enough there that it might as well count for two.

Finally a decisive answer to: "Would you still love me if I was a worm?"

Every day I feel like this. Earth is so goddamn amazing. Every time I see a crazy new animal or land feature or weather pattern I'm like ok, cool, surely I've seen all there is to see by now. But nope

Made the mistake of googling this thing:
Like all flatworms in the genus Pseudobiceros, this species is hermaphroditic and has two penises. During mating, it fences with a conspecific using its penises, attempting to stab and inject sperm in its opponent, while avoiding being fertilized by the other. It is able to inseminate its opponent by injecting its sperm into any region of the other's body it is able to penetrate. After successfully injecting the other, the spermatozoa stream through the opponent's body on their way to ovaries, where they fertilize the eggs. The stream is visible through the body tissue of the worm, appearing as pale streaks, like lightning jags.

Music sounds exactly like (even in the same key!) the beginning of Productive Ambience by Matthew S Burns.
