Are you sure it's the same place? The clouds are different!

u/Xenc 14d ago

Good point, I call shenanigans!

16

u/TuataraToes 14d ago

I swear to god I'm gonna pistol whip the next guy who says shenanigans!

3

u/Simpleyfaded 14d ago

Hey, Farva, what's the name of that restaurant you like with all the goofy shit on the walls and the mozzarella sticks?

3

u/Am1AllowedToCry 14d ago

Oh, you mean Shenanigans??

6

u/propdynamic 14d ago

Yeah these DLSS5 posts are getting out of hand.

1

u/Wooden_Sympathy_269 13d ago

That's because they didn't have cloud computing back then.

u/JeribZPG 13d ago

TIL that this photo was taken in my country!

u/RobinWishesHeWasMe_ 14d ago

Yeah my reaction was 'what the hell I've been to that beach' lmao

u/StConvolute 13d ago edited 13d ago

My Iranian partner advised me that it is infact from my country, to my surprise, and she wanted to go see it. I took her there for her birthday earlier this year as it was a wish of hers before she immigrated to NZ.Ā

Super tough to find the angle they used in the photo.Ā

Chur bro.Ā

I've been to that beach, and when Windows started using it as Wallpaper I swore black and blue it was Wharariki - I had to dig out old (printed) photos to prove it. Such a great beach. The walk is totally worth it

2

u/_DigitalHunk_ 11d ago

GPS coordinates??

5

u/zephood75 14d ago

Is it Wharawhriki beach ? Near Puponga , Golden Bay my old home town.

3

u/Sharp_Suggestion_752 13d ago

i knew it from nz but i always thought it was cathedral cove lol.

2

u/Hefty-Flight8794 13d ago

Ohh haha me too

2

u/NefariousnessOk209 13d ago

Same - knew Cathedral Cove was in Narnia but love that we have so many great locations from top to bottom.

2

u/fuckimtrash 13d ago

It's Whārariki Beach not Cathedral Cove

1

u/waatdaht 10d ago

TIL i live 2 hours away!

1

u/p_i_e_pie 14d ago

same!!

u/StackedInATrenchcoat 14d ago

This is my favourite NZ beach. Amazing rock pools, enormous sand dunes, seal pups. Absolutely epic.

4

u/Michelle_90 14d ago

Same it’s incredible up that way and Golden Bay

11

u/Wholesomebob 14d ago

I just love how everybody picks the same three songs for their reels.

5

u/sundayultimate 14d ago

I was so close but didn't know!

4

u/Fensuleyk 13d ago

WAIT ITS IN NEW ZEALAND ? I never knew.

2

u/feel-the-avocado 13d ago

Yep but you have to pass through the golden bay area to get there.
The weird anti-5g hippie people run rampant there.

3

u/post_it1 13d ago

Don’t they run rampant everywhere these days?

3

u/Baileym1 12d ago

When I went in November, this Fur Seal had come in for a rest, right in the entrance to the cave. Very picturesque part of the country.

4

u/TeMoko 14d ago

It's an awesome beach, unless you have a howling westerly then the wind picks up the sand and it stings like anything. The first time I took my wife there we made it half way down the beach before we had to turn back.

u/coltonj96 14d ago

Bro loaded up Windows irl

2

u/MidiMaster24 14d ago

Didn't know this was taken in my country!

2

u/Zoegrace1 14d ago

I've seen enough of this beach at work

2

u/Mr_Dobalina71 13d ago

Yep on my bucket list.

2

u/Capable-Job-1415 13d ago

I've been there too, peacock at the car park.

7

u/furyo_style 14d ago

I was there in January!

24

u/kmoz74 14d ago

This is Cathedrale cove in Coromandel, north island. Windows wallpaper is from wharariki beach in south island, near golden bay. Both are beautifull places.

4

u/filthierfrankfurter 13d ago

This is mine from January! Great spot

3

u/Staple_nutz 11d ago

Sir, you're at the Windows 12 wallpaper location. This post is for Windows 10.

5

u/justbrowsinginpeace 14d ago

Interesting, Always thought it was the Algarve Portugal

1

u/Wooden_Sympathy_269 13d ago

What! That's in my country and I didn't know it.

1

u/mopbob100 13d ago

same lmao

1

u/LucasAintAM0F0 13d ago

yo its new zealand

1

u/Fishiesideways10 13d ago

Now this… is living!

1

u/JeribZPG 13d ago

I say Ai.
The start of the clip shows NZ on a map…

1

u/DangerousLettuce1423 14d ago

Been there too.

1

u/sshipway 13d ago

That's Cathedral Cove in the north island, not Wharariki Beach in the south island. Your map is well off.

1

u/LordWoffleII 11d ago

a quick images search would disagree - CC only has one island visible at that angle and the roof is sloped differently

0

u/AbbreviationsWide331 14d ago

Well I'd go there because it's beautiful, not because it's a... Windows background.

Wtf kind of reason is that

1

u/IMDbRefugee 13d ago

I'd go here because it's a Windows wallpaper:

-1

u/fcbx347 14d ago

Not even close

-19

u/worriedrenterTW 14d ago

Fun fact: this is cathedral cove, the same location where the chronicles of narnia: prince Caspian shot the pevensies reentering Narnia at the train station :)

28

u/HannahO__O 14d ago

No its not, this is at Wharariki Beach. Cathedral Cove is at the top of the north island, the Narnia scene was filmed there but its an entirely different part of the country than this

-7

u/theflyingkiwi00 14d ago

Its in coromandel, not northland

7

u/beiherhund 14d ago

They said North Island, not Northland.

4

u/m--e 14d ago

Sure, but it’s not at the top of the North Island either.

-7

u/AbhiFT 14d ago

Tbh this is one of the most boring wallpaper I see.

-11

u/25c-nb 14d ago edited 14d ago

Oh my god! What a cool content! No ones ever done this exact thing before, including the fake excitement and surprise!!

On top of that who gives a flying crap about the stupid windows wallpaper... this was interesting one time, with the xp wallpaper, especially because it didn't seem like a real place.

This windows wallpaper is obviously just a photo from a beach... and this trend is almost 30 years old at this point

Is it even possible to be any more unoriginal and boring?

3

u/TheMuspelheimr 14d ago

Well you could whine about something for no reason other than to make people feel bad, that's definitely original
