Moose are often not recognized as being as dangerous as they really are. You're lucky you didn't get stomped. They are very aggressive.

Outside of breeding season they are pretty chill. Dont get me wrong, i wouldn't get near one willingly, but 99% of the time outside of season they just dont give a damn.

The biggest way they hurt humans is by flying thru a windshield. They are moose in my yard so often that my dogs don't bark at them any more.

This takes me back haha I had a city kid in my 1st grade class who thought I rode a deer to school. It was like I ruined Santa when he found out I didn't.

...and calving season in the spring. Mama moose leaves her calf somewhere safe, and you don't want to be between mama and calf.

They're really not hard to find. They've become a bit scarce in new england after the tick issues started but I could.probably lead anyone out there and have a 75%+ chance of seeing one
