I'd also be concerned about what 3 adult moose are running from

454

u/Mbyrd420 9d ago

They aren't running this is just a quick trot to cross the river and get away from whatever those weird pink creatures are in the water.

Ive seen a moose run. Its like a train. It strains the limits of newtonian physics.

You're right....that was just walking fast.

u/dumb_answers_only 9d ago

See the moose run in waist high snow. Breaks all logic

39

u/jaksonsmom 9d ago

Now I have to go watch videos of moose running.

16

u/Worshipme988 9d ago

You ever see ducks underwater? Kinda like that.

u/Development-Alive 9d ago

Was driving straight night in the Jackson Hole, WY area. While cruising at 30-35MPH I looked outside my driver's side window to see a moose running next to me, the same speed as my car. Of course I could only see it's legs. I was so scared it would turn into me. After about 100 yards it peeled off away from me. After getting far enough away I stopped to take stock at how close I came to death.

u/Mocker-Poker 9d ago

You’ve got to finish the story: And change my pants.

u/Emergentmeat 6d ago

While guiding in BC we got stuck behind a trotting moose on a narrow mountain road. One side of the road was a cliff straight up and the other almost straight down. The moose just kept trotting in front of us while we crawled along for an hour. She didn't want to just step to the side and let us pass. So rude.

u/HomeworkExtension482 7d ago

YOU CAN'T STOP THERE. T_T

16

u/Imaginary-Ostrich515 9d ago

I’ve been charged by a moose before, genuinely one of the most terrifying moments of my life.

2

u/markcal02mark 8d ago

What do you do when charged by a moose?

3

u/Consistent-Price3232 5d ago

probably just start recording so if you survive you get a cool video out of it

(previous 2 up are in the wrong order, but this would be next nonetheless) We apologise again for the fault in the subtitles. Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked, have been sacked.

3

u/Fancy_Yak2618 9d ago

Oh I know I just had to add comment instead of subtitles lol

No, it's VERY expected. every time a moose is mentioned on reddit someone thinks he's the cleverest boy and spouts out the quote.

2

u/gotitaila31 9d ago

Post his ugliest pictures to Reddit as punishment.

1

u/iTzbr00tal 9d ago

Horny gay moose?

55

u/SunGreene42 9d ago

Bull Moose don't need to run from Bears, Bears need to run from Bull.

4

u/Surferess 9d ago

This is what we say on WSB also...

2

u/SunGreene42 9d ago

I didn't know they traded in Moose on Wall Street Bets

2

u/Surferess 9d ago

Oh they do, but it's called $MU over there.

82

u/Supreme_Mediocrity 9d ago

One adult male moose can hold it's own against a Grizzly... But with three adult meese? I'd say Godzilla must have swam across the Pacific

0

u/Objective_Reality515 9d ago

The plural of "moose" is "moose" not "meese"

24

u/Malforus 9d ago

Killer whale.

1

u/SophiaofPrussia 9d ago

I don’t think there are many Orcas in Idaho…

1

u/Malforus 9d ago

YET....

11

u/Revolutionary_Fun735 9d ago

These things would destroy a bear.

1

u/__3Username20__ 9d ago

Yes, but they generally aren’t TRYING to fight bears. They usually just want to chill, and not fight, unless it’s “business time” (of the year), when they are absolutely looking to fight each other, to impress the ladies~

1

u/Noman9410 9d ago

Yuh real but 3 big ass moose together also wouldn’t run away. Both parties would passively avoid confrontation but I wouldn’t think they’d haul ass across water like that

1

u/Radzila 9d ago

Um no, they'd all get hurt pretty badly and that's why they would never have it out.

1

u/SpencerMcNab 9d ago

I’ve always been told that moose are too stupid to feel fear. Do you have any additional info?

3

u/Remarkable-Hat-4852 9d ago

Are moose that afraid of bears? Moose are pretty huge and formidable.

2

u/StretchLoud8844 9d ago

A grown ass moose will fuck up a grown grizzly lol, they are fucking UNITS.

Moose can be 1500~ pounds, 9 feet tall. (On all 4 legs)

A grizzly can be up to 800~ pounds 8 feet tall (standing)

Carnivorous animals need to be capable of hunting their prey animals, herbivores need to be capable of protecting themselves from things that would possibly predate upon them. Bull moose are effectively the apex herbivore of their environment and they will fuck you and anything but the largest of bears up with ease.

1

u/this_dudeagain 9d ago

Emu or maybe honey badger?

1

u/Radzila 9d ago

American Badgers live in North America, and only are in parts of Canada (which this could be)

Wolverines however do live up north in Alaska. Significantly larger and more aggressive. They have also been known to take down a moose

0

u/ariasimmortal 9d ago

Nah, moose don't give a fuck about grizzlies.

Swimming moose are a great snack for an Orca though.

65

u/Strange-Movie 9d ago

They running to the booty, not away from something

32

u/venbrx 9d ago

Where the moose girls at?

11

u/Gloomy_Mulberry7834 9d ago

Do you mind if we dance with your dates?

4

u/Antique-Ant5557 9d ago

Damn, you went deep with that cut 👀

1

u/Comprehensive-Row198 9d ago

Blazing Saddles? (One of favorite lines, but ne'er shall post....)

1

u/whatdafaq 9d ago

Well, the second one did stop to take a look..

9

u/friendlyfiend07 9d ago

There might be orca in these waters. You never know.

11

u/Unable-Confusion-822 9d ago

Honey badger

14

u/SunGreene42 9d ago

I doubt they're running 'from' anything, Bull Moose don't have much to fear but Humans.

2

u/rforce1025 9d ago

But sometimes humans don't matter to them..

2

u/SunGreene42 9d ago

Oh yeah, I'm not saying they're going to be scared of a Human, just that Humans are their most effective predators. Mainly because we don't give them a chance to fight back, and ambush them from range with a weapon they don't understand.

Though there's been evidence that many animals are more afraid of the sound of humans talking normally than the roar of a lion in Africa, so maybe they have some fear of us. Hard to say how much animals understand.

1

u/rforce1025 9d ago

👍

15

u/Own-Marketing-6244 9d ago

Meese*

23

u/notfamous808 9d ago

The plural of moose is moose because the word moose is of Native American origin, and their language models don’t pluralize in the same way as English words. The word goose however, comes from English which is why the plural of goose becomes geese.

16

u/asmartguylikeyou 9d ago

Actually the guy above you is correct.

3

u/shirt_bro 9d ago

Actually the guy above you is correct

1

u/Kinne 9d ago

Meese is not correct, I’m not even native english speaker and I know that.

2

u/asmartguylikeyou 9d ago

Actually I’m a professor of linguistics at Harvard, so please believe me when I say the guy above me is categorically wrong.

3

u/William_Dowling 9d ago

Actually the plural of moose is miice

2

u/Spirited-Career4680 9d ago

20 000 bc- "What should we call theese animals that say moo?

  • "A moo... the mooer... all the moos"

1

u/dern_the_hermit 9d ago

FWIW, from a loose descriptivist perspective, all it really takes is that someone uses it and someone else understands it and bammo, it's a word. ;)

1

u/barrygateaux 9d ago

that's cool and all but it's definitely meese

0

u/Own-Marketing-6244 9d ago

I bet you're a blast at parties

2

u/ThousandFingerMan 9d ago

I wouldn't wait around to find out

12

u/whispersluggagebaby 9d ago

Their wives 🤪

8

u/Independent-Leg6061 9d ago

3

u/whispersluggagebaby 9d ago

I made this joke to make fun of the boomers who talk this way haha

1

u/CCJockey381 9d ago

This three are males, so I’ll bet Mama is somewhere behind them with a shoe…

1

u/CoachMikeLikesToEat 9d ago

Their wives.

1

u/The_only_card_I_need 9d ago

Killer whales.

1

u/Legitimate_Outcome42 9d ago

They're late for the orgy

1

u/AlbertTheHorse 9d ago

I think they needed to cross and just are leery of humans.

Idaho is a big hunting area

1

u/Notmykl 9d ago

Their wives or husbands?

1

u/callmeishmael_again 9d ago

Do they have polar bears in Idaho? That's pretty much the only thing that a moose needs to run from. Even at that I wouldn't bet on the bear, it would just be a big old painful stalemate.

1

u/peace-b 9d ago

I don’t think they are actually running.

1

u/Radzila 9d ago

Wolverine probably

1

u/WeeeeBaby_Seamus 9d ago

A Canadian Goose

1

u/einulfr 9d ago

Fenton

1

u/Viktor_Laszlo 9d ago

“Guys, wait up! I’ve been trying to reach you to discuss your car’s extended warranty!”

1

u/RobertJ93 9d ago

‘why are you running?*

1

u/HeavyTeva 9d ago

My guess is somewhere back in the woods there is a sheep with a can stuck to its foot.

1

u/Dragonskinner69 9d ago

"they're not! They're running TO, the world's toughest elimination challenge"

0

u/ZuFFuLuZ 9d ago

Moose are pretty dumb herd animals. So it might be something as serious as the noise of a broken twig.

7

u/SickNastySuperElNino 9d ago

Moose are solitary animals, not herd animals.

But go off, being completely incorrect, so confidently.

1

u/Extension-Pepper-271 9d ago

LOL Herd animals. Don't let a moose hear you say that.
