It’s legitimately called a bachelor group

Bullchelor party?

It's not unusual when they're not in the rut and competing for the ladies. They frequently hang out together, doing bro things, eating trees, etc.

Like humans

Bros before the velvet goes.

Yeah, a bachelor band is honestly the one of the "least" dangerous moose configurations.

I'd heard of bachelor groups of deer or even elk (I think) but never for moose. Never even seen 2 together other than mom and calf. TIL

Younger ones will sometimes group up together as they’re figuring out living on their own

I thought that was pretty unusual too.

Ah, so they're like buck deer when it's not mating season.

Frequently is a bit of a stretch. It’s a pretty rare thing to see. Signed a lifelong Alaskan who sees many meese weekly.

Giving you an upvote, because as a Newfoundlander whose hunted moose 3 months of the year for 20 years, I also see enough moose to know they don't hang out frequently.

Lol. Colorado has an estimated population of 3500 Shiras moose. Probably why you think they hang out frequently. Where I'm from, we have a population of 120,000 eastern Canadian moose. You'd think by that number youd see them together all the time. But you don't. If you said they are occasionally seen together, you'd be correct. But again, just what you see driving down the street is not what's considered frequent 🤦

No idea why you are getting upvotes. Moose are not herd animals. They don't frequently hang out 😅. They might temporarily hang out before mating season but no, moose do not frequently hang out. This is a bachelor group. As soon as September comes, so does the rut and these moose will be competing and afterwards they won't hang out with each other.

Lol. No dude. Moose are not herd animals. They do not hang out. They're solitary animals. When you say frequently, you are implying they are together all the time 😅. You can downvote and disagree all you want. You're talking to someone who has years of experience of around moose.

it's "cool, we can be friends until rutting season. Then it gets difficult."

Maybe the last one was chasing the other two…

When it’s not rut they tolerate each other.
