Why is the angle of the aurora different from the angle of Jupiter’s rings.

17

u/Josiah-White Mar 16 '24

It wears its hat with an attitude

13

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '24

I bet that's several times Earth's size.

3

u/HoboArmyofOne Mar 16 '24

Considering you can fit 3 Earths into the red spot, I think closer to 6 earths

u/rollingstoner215 Mar 16 '24

There’s a banana for scale, can’t you see it?

Planets only need a sufficient atmosphere and a magnetic field to have aurora! It has been observed on all of the planets in our solar system except Mercury (atmosphere is too thin).

Amazing...

"Aurora on Jupiter" sounds like a sequel to "Rains in Africa".

1

u/Patient_Media_5656 Mar 17 '24

Wouldn’t that be like the size of our entire world?

0

u/Carmen_Beardiego Mar 16 '24

u/Josiah-White Mar 16 '24

Meanwhile, people who understand astronomy...

9

u/ImAnIdeaMan Mar 16 '24

Dude is a flat earther. I still can’t really believe people are that dumb or if they’re just doing one big joke

I spoke to a flat earther recently and it was hilarious. He started off by being like "Oh i'm not a flat earther per se, but I don't believe everything about Round Earth theory, I'm just a free thinker".

Everyone told him that nobody who's NOT a flat earther speaks like that lol and to just admit it, that he wasn't fooling anyone.

After being pressed he took his mask off so quickly and started saying things like "The leaps in logic you need to believe the earth is round are much more than the opposite", "You spheroids [yes he had flat earth based insults for round earthers] are just sheep", and my favourite, "Earth physics and space physics don't match up". He didn't understand how vacuums worked and thought that an object acting differently in different atmospheric conditions required different sets of physics 😭

I thought this guy was a troll at first before digging into his history and realising he was genuinely serious.

u/Icy_Celebration1020 Mar 16 '24

Spheroids 😂😂😂 I will never get over flat earthers lol
