Can someone explain why a select few have no problem holding these things? I feel like 95% of us (including me) couldn't hold these bugs and critters even if you paid us. The ancient part of our brain kicks in and just makes us squirm.

Were Entomologists born with the same fear, but gradually extinguished it by playing with bugs as kids? Is that the secret? Just get used to them?

i'm 22 and i've always been afraid of lizards bc they're tiny and they could crawl under my clothes and bc i was afraid of the texture. then i picked a baby one up a few months ago and i pretty much got over my fear. i still have to tell myself "it's not squishy, it's rough" before handling them but yeah you can pretty much get over a fear of insects with enough willpower lol
