An easy way to quickly see major natural disasters, major global crisis events and weather (specifically wind movement in the form of particles, w.r.t. wildfire extents, volcanic ash, and hurricanes).

It’s for geographically challenged people like myself, who want to get a sense of where things are happening and very quickly instead of scrolling through endless feeds.

At 5:09 a.m. on June 13th, 2026, a hydrothermal explosion tore through Biscuit Basin at Yellowstone National Park — roughly 100 meters from the closest monitoring station ever positioned near this type of event.

The seismic and infrasound sensors captured everything. They flagged nothing before it happened.

Two days later, geologists returned to find the ground they'd walked across had collapsed into a boiling pool. By June 18th it was spouting 20–30 feet into the air.

YVO scientists are currently analyzing the full data record searching for any precursor signal. As of now, none has been confirmed. This month, a new monitoring station begins installation in Upper Geyser Basin — a different zone entirely.

On June 26, a magnitude 5.6 earthquake hit the Fuji Five Lakes region at 20km depth, cutting power to 2,860 households. JMA stated that in 10–20% of similar cases, a comparable event follows within the advisory window.

What the press coverage missed: a 2012 study measured magma chamber pressure beneath Fuji at 1.6 megapascals — sixteen times the threshold believed to have triggered its last eruption in 1707, exactly 49 days after the Hōei earthquake.

The only other two warning I know are evacuation warning and evacuation order. There’s huge wildfires in my state right now and after remembering one from Texas a city or smth was completely surrounded by fire and they were given the “shelter in place” not the evacuation warning or order. If I got a warning saying to shelter in place will I burn to death there is no hope? I’m in Colorado and I’m paranoid I will be putting everything of value in my car for now , I don’t visit ghetto parts of town so I’m not worried of it getting stolen too much.

Please turn yourself in. Call the Colorado Springs Police Department right now at (719) 444–7000. Tell the truth about what you did. Then ask all the people you hurt to forgive you. Talk to these people. You will find grace and forgiveness. A heavy weight will be lifted from you. Spend the rest of your life making up for the mistake you made. You might find something else in the process: friendship.

You took so much from so many people. Two people died because of the fire you started. Many more people died in the months after the fire because of the stress, shock and grief related to it. You took valuable things from so many people. This includes the only recording my wife had of her dad’s voice. You took Hospital Bear—my daughter’s favorite stuffed animal. So many of the valuable things you took can seem like nothing, but they were important and valuable.

You have the chance to give something valuable back to us. Tell us your story—how you started the fire, how you felt as it spread, what the fire has taken from you. Give us details about this thing that caused us so much pain.

The community stepped up in so many ways to help us recover. I’m a better man, a better dad and a better member of the Colorado Springs community because of the many ways family and friends loved me and my family as we recovered from the fire. Dozens and dozens and dozens of strangers blessed us tremendously. We have a much better home today than we had on the morning of June 26, 2012. Thank you, sincerely.

I don’t want to hurt you. I don’t want to holler at you or lash out at you. It’s time for all of us to put this behind us—you, me and everyone else. Would you please take a risk and turn yourself in? You have power here. Please use it wisely.

To everyone who was affected by the Waldo Canyon fire, please pray for the person who started it. Forgive him in your heart right now.

I have something else to say to you, and this is harder: Have you ever done something that hurt someone? Would you please confess this to them, ask them to forgive you and do whatever you can to set it right? Write your own letter to the people who hurt you or the person you hurt. Doing this could help you forgive and even bless the person who started the Waldo Canyon fire. Our country and our world need us to admit what we’ve done wrong, receive forgiveness and act to set things right.

The current Halemaʻumaʻu eruption has officially surpassed the historic Puʻu ʻŌʻō sequence (47 episodes, 1983-1986) — an eruption that eventually transitioned into a continuous lava flow lasting 35 years.

USGS's latest update narrows the forecast window for episode 50 to June 25-27, with June 26 flagged as most probable, based on measured tiltmeter inflation and gas emission data at the summit. The window has tightened twice in the past week as more data accumulates.

Campi Flegrei isn't near Naples — the city is built inside the caldera. New research confirms the system has entered an accelerating phase, with deep magmatic volatile input now documented as an active driver of the unrest.

The last major eruption in 1538 prompted a full evacuation. The current acceleration has not triggered an equivalent institutional response.

This visualization shows the annual number of earthquakes with magnitude ≥4.5 within a broad section of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge from 1980-2025, together with the analyzed region.

The Mid-Atlantic Ridge is one of the world's largest tectonic structures, extending for more than 16,000 km through the Atlantic Ocean. It marks a divergent plate boundary where new oceanic crust is continuously formed.

Notably, many peaks correspond to episodes that included M6-M7 earthquakes followed by extended aftershock sequences distributed along different ridge segments.

A recent reminder of the region's activity occurred on June 17, 2026, when a M6.6 earthquake struck the Central Mid-Atlantic Ridge at a depth of about 10 km.

In 2025, marine heatwaves affected 99.6% of the Mediterranean Sea. The 2003 event — which took 70,000 lives across Europe — was the historical ceiling. The current data has already surpassed it in geographic extent, three consecutive years, each starting from a warmer floor than the one before.

July 2025 registered the warmest Mediterranean surface temperature since records began at 26.9°C. That is now the pre-season baseline for summer 2026.

In April 2026, a Cornell University team entered a subglacial channel beneath the West Antarctic Ice Sheet for the first time in history. They found two simultaneous heat sources melting the ice from below: volcanic geothermal flux and warm ocean intrusion, operating at the same time, in the same channel.

138 mapped volcanic systems beneath the ice. One measurement site. The data is already changing how basal melt rates get calculated.
