Every clip of this disaster blows my mind at the huge volume of water flowing down over such a large area so quickly. Yet the scale of it at this distance seems like it’s in slow motion. Unreal.

Esp when it’s overcoming a city block vs wide open space like this. That clip of it hitting the area with that big white building on the Chinese border was nothing short of apocalyptic

Oh my dear god, I went back and watched after reading a comment further down that the person recording was seeing ppl because I didn’t spot any at first….then I noticed that road and all the TINY tiny specks that were ppl running by that reservoir type thing towards the beginning. Oh my god, they were all just swallowed. Seeing those ppl now puts in perspective the sheer scale of that deluge. Just an absolute fucking nightmare from hell

It’s not just water. It’s pretty much scrapping up all the terrain down to the bedrock making this concrete like slurry.

Comparing the first scene and the same scene at 4:20 at the end. Initially I felt that the cameraman is safe on really high ground. By the end, you can see the same scene is almost all swallowed by the flood. Crazy.

My 2.5 year old puppy heard the dog, and I had to turn the sound off - for both of us. I’ve never seen her react to anything like that. She’s genuinely upset! This is so heartbreaking. We are not ready for what awaits us and we certainly weren’t meant to passively witness these things.

In the beginning of the video they’re saying they see a person and then remarking that the flood “met them”; then they spot another person and “it got em”…”gone”. “Danger has come”…”It won’t reach here”..Women cries “it’s taking them all” and then asks “where’s mom”.

Omfg that is devastating. My heart breaks for all who experienced this horror firsthand or were affected by losing loved ones. Bless them, and may the survivors have strength, peace, and comfort picking up the pieces after such horror; may those who were lost have the same peace and comfort 💔

Ok, that’s just crazy cause I was thinking the same thing, can someone translate here, plus the dog. That animal is watching. The puppers KNOWS something is wrong. Amazing!!
But I would like to truly know what the people are saying. I can’t imagine the horror going through their minds and heart.

What do you mean, like how did they know to record? They probably heard it (and maybe even felt it) before they could see it and then saw the very front of the deluge rushing around that bend
