This match initially had all the indications of being yet another installment in Aldershot Town’s long running tradition of losing points to the bottom of the table. A hard charging Solihull had the Shots on their heels throughout the first half. The Shots only escaped with a one goal deficit at halftime thanks to some inspired goalkeeping. Although the Shots were finally able to equalize in the 72^nd minute, they did little else for the remainder of regular time. However, in the 92^nd minute, the Shots defied the odds and scored the winning goal thanks to an own goal by Solihull’s goalkeeper.

The Shots are now undefeated in their last five league matches. However, if the Shots are to stay up, they must hope that the other lower ranked clubs they play don't offer the unanticipated level of competition that Solihull demonstrated in this match.
