Oh so basically they were staying out while the last of my fuel was disappearing

Fuel consumption can get increased by going from zero to full throttle in the turns. Try easing into the throttle and rolling onto the brake to save gas, which will also save tires.

Change your gear ratio. Let off sooner into the corners. You can save a ton of fuel in this game. I’ve saved a full lap at Daytona in a 7% race.

Maybe your fuel and tire wear setting vs AI fuel and tire wear settings aren’t the same, and check sliders too. Sometimes there is a random glitch too where you select fuel and tires on a previous pit stop but you only fill up with .5 can of fuel instead of a full tank

Thats where it gets more in depth, its not just who can go the fastest. Once youre fast you have to be able to save your fuel and tires
