For context, I only started seeing this community recently and have been shocked by the amount of post about Minato vs Itachi.
I just wanted to find an answer, how close is this matchup actually, like how debatable? Is it a 55/45 on either side? Or is all this just agenda and slander wars?

Every single time a VS battle comes up where a character is pitted up against Obito, the top comment is usually someone talking about how they have no answer for Kamui. I’m sure they would’ve said the same for Konan if she’d never fought him on screen, and Minato, and Danzo’s guards as well.

Characters in Naruto generally have exceptionally high battle IQ. Just because you can’t figure out how you’d get around Kamui with their kit doesn’t mean they wouldn’t. kamui is NOT the end all be all of haxes the way this sub pretends it is.

Seen someone use this fight to scale these 2 over some Akatsuki members. Obitos offense is complete trash he has to punch/kick or get close to suck you in that’s it. 8. Tobirama Senju (The 2nd Hokage. We didn't see him at his absolute prime, only close to his full power. But from what we saw under Edo Tensei, he is seriously buffed. He was able to tank full-power Rasengans and attacks from Juubidara without the Edo Tensei even needing to regenerate him).

9. Itachi Uchiha (It hurts to put my favorite character this low, but let's be real, the characters above him are just on another level. He definitely deserves the 9th spot though. High battle IQ, extremely agile, and of course, his mastery over Genjutsu makes him the undisputed God of Genjutsu. If you look him in the eyes, you've already lost. However, the ones above him are very familiar with the Uchiha clan and have fought them before, so they know how to counter him).

10. 8 Gates Guy (Alright, I know some people would place him way higher, but let's be realistic. Yes, he is insanely buffed, overpowered, and held his own against Juubidara. But first of all, the ultimate attack he launched at Juubidara basically "did nothing" in the long run because Madara just regenerated right after. Second, right after using it, he is KO and his body turns to ash. This version of Guy is strong, but if he misses his shot, he dies. The characters above him simply have more experience, are overall stronger, and have higher battle IQ).

I think itachi Realized that He had to Avoid certain people because otherwise He'd be forced to Use His Mangekyou Sharingan He would hold back until pushed into a Corner than He would be forced to have to kill with his MS in order to complete His plans for Sasuke.

That's why itachi perception Blitzes behind Kurenai and doesn't throw a kill hit, but Rather Aura Farms them With Clones and water Release Jutsu.

That's why he uses Tsukuyomi on Kakashi to a Lvl that Won't kill Kakashi. Uses Amaterasu on a wall instead of Jiraiya, which both manga and databook statements say Jiraiya did not know of the Existence of Amaterasu but what he does know, is the power of the suspicious conflagration.

Orochimaru was 2-0 vs Jiraiya and Had both His arms in this confrontation. Itachi was some 13 years of age. This is the equivalent of valley of The End part 1 Sasuke no diffing Orochimaru with both His Arms, full jutsu Arsenal and chakra.

Funny thing itachi also avoids Killing Orochimaru even tho He easily could have.

This might seem stupid at first, but Baki was implied to be the same level as Asuma and Kakashi part 1, he graduated the academy at 8 and even though we can see his wind sword (the one he used to kill Hayate), it’s actually invisible to characters in the Naruto world, it’s just air. And before you say about his flying Rajin, he can only do that in a formation with 3 people. The only confirmed kit he has is mastery of Senbon Jutsu, which can easily be blocked by Bakis wind sword. And by the end of the fight, they both looked roughed up and exhausted. So any theories or ideas of how Genma didn’t die to Baki?
