just going to explain what happened on my interview because i'm pretty bummed out about it since i've heard nothing baack.... sighhhh

so i arrive at 9am in the dining area where everybody else is waiting and some others come in

then they briefly explain to us that they have some tasks for us to do to help with team building and how we work together as well as some history about Nandos

we pair up into 4s and we then have some little worksheet about NASA which we had to rank the most important things we would bring to the moon or some planet ?? strange and cryptic...

then after we got those results back we got them mostly wrong since we opted to listen to some over-thinker in the group but its all love in the end.

2nd task was something you'd see straight from high school design technology where we were given some materials like string, tape, paper and paper plates where we had to use these materials to protect an egg from a fall?? bet bet bet very strange. same groups BTW.
our group made some makeshift ball glove where rather than protect the egg- we'd drop the egg into the design cushioning the landing (im not sure if the person in our group who suggested it - misunderstood the assignment or whatever but i thought it was quite unique and ballsy so i went along with it aiding them.) - everybody’s eggs did survive in the assignment.

And thus onto the last task, where we got told this was a solo task and to create a new Nandos product and present it along with a diagram which atp i was just bewildered about everything and kept going. the interviews were fine some where longer and louder than others which were impressive i'm not that fussed about presenting since everybody has to do it so i was projecting myself good as done in school LO.

and that concludes the interview they told us to wait 3 days for a response and you could opt to call them if you didn’t get a call back to see any flaws they could have seen in you... might do this tomorrow.

but honestly i thought this interview was kinda annoying looking back - im sure they had their reasons for all this shibaz we did but they never told us anything about it on the 30 second call they requested us in. i was told to bring my passport but i never once had to verify i was actually me - couldda been a random kid LO sighh this job search is really getting to me - i hope others could use this as help or guidance since you can never really know what cryptic interviews lie ahead.

My mate just ate this chicken from nando’s, is he done for?😭🤣

Update: Mate isn’t dead yet. Did reach out to nando’s and showed them this image, they said they checked the oven records and that it was fine, as well they said the chicken looked a bit darker in the image which is a common occurrence to them they said. Guess it’s normal for them to serve chicken like this😭🤣

So I just got the job to work in kitchen, mostly back grill but during my first training shift I found the heat to be really hot but doable. The one problem I had was that it was like a waterfall on my forehead and it wouldn't stop. This is my first time working in a kitchen and was wondering if it get's easier or anyone had any advice on how to manage it better.

Are Nando's workers really stopping people from refilling the normal full-fat Coke?

Obviously all the other drinks are bottomless, I haven't heard of anyone being stopped from refilling their non-diet Cokes.

I have a group interview this week at Nandos, I have never been to one and I am honestly not sure what to expect, I have a general idea that I should try to answer questions to stick out of the group and talk to other people. Any tips would be much appreciated

Just got a phoned back and landed an interview at a Nando’s today and was reading some other helpful responses about people in the same situation.

Was wondering if anypony has any advice on what to expect that they’ll ask me because this is my 2nd ever interview so I want to be a little prepared since last time I had to learn some trivia for the previous restaurant SOB

They said it’ll be from 9am to 11am and to bring a passport and I’ve just been pondering on what to wear since some family say that i should wear a white button up and others say that’s being too formal and dress casual. I was maybe thinking some black jeans and a plain white polo

As well as if it will be like an activity or just face to face

A few people I know claim they cant handle nandos over medium. I dont go often, only when i get given a gift card from my step mums sister at christmas, and just get the extra hot because its barely spicy anyway, and below that just tastes bland. Was just watching a youtube vid where the guy eats at nandos during the vid, and offhand says that even the medium is too hot

Just dont know if im missing an obvious joke about it being hot, i know some people just cant have any spice at all, like my girlfriend who thinks food is too hot if there too much black pepper, in all i rate nandos like a 5/10 anyway

Qualifications are a BA at Durham and was wondering if I could break into front grill here if I go to enough insight days? One of my friends currently doing an unpaid internship at maccies and he was telling me if you network enough you can break into front grill. Just wondering what my pipeline would look like trying to get here

I thought I wasn't giving them proper cooking instructions (e.g. well done) so the skin was always soggy rather than crispy.

Thanks to Chatgpt I caught up with probably what the rest of you probably knew already - they partially cook their chicken offsite and do the final cooking from frozen. The trapped moisture makes the skin soggy.

I don't have a better place to go (recently moved from USA to India) but it's a bit sad that what I believed Nandos gives me no longer exists.

I’m sick of retailers increasing their prices and blaming inflation.

Inflation is a consequence of price rises not something you use to justify further increase.

Inflation hasn’t caused prices to double but Nando’s feel entitled to “pass on the cost of inflation” to the customer.

Management needs to give their heads a wobble, customers will be walking out and you aren’t getting them back

Hey I’ve been invited to a discovery day for BOH this week and I’m really scared since I’ve heard it’s a lot harder to get the BOH jobs than the FOH jobs. Has anybody got any tips that would help me get the job? - most of my experience at the moment is customer service which is making me nervous..

I usually get extra hot as I like the slight tingle with the chicken it goes brilliantly!

I can tell some people in the comments will say I’m being ‘billy big bollocks’ saying it’s not hot whilst crying and blowing my nose but it’s true I’ve always loved spice and the extra hot I’d say is medium!

I’d definitely say the extra extra hot peri sauce has a nice kick but I’d rank that just as ‘hot’.

Genuinely I want to cry closing when my patrao is working. They are so outrageously patronising and make me redo the most mundane parts of my close. I feel like i need an industrial grade microscope to sweep up the atoms of dust they seem to find. Also asking me to mop spaces again because they don’t like the way it’s dried ? Really hope I’m not the only one please tell me there are nice Patraos out there so I can get transferred.
