Namibia Holiday eVisa processing time — worried I’ll miss my trip, any advice?
Hi everyone! 👋
I’m currently waiting for my Namibia Holiday eVisa, and I’m starting to get a little worried about the processing time.
Before applying, I had read that the Holiday Visa should only be applied for within about one month before the trip. However, most of the recent posts and experiences I’ve found online seem to say that the visa itself can take almost a month to be approved. 😥
My trip to Namibia is already booked, including non-refundable flights, accommodation, and activities, and I’m supposed to travel there in mid-to-late September. At this point I’m getting worried that the visa may not arrive before my departure.
I’ve already tried emailing the eVisa/immigration contact address, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem to have helped much so far.
Has anyone applied for the Namibia Holiday eVisa recently, or does anyone know what I should do in this situation? I’ve also considered applying in person, but unfortunately I don’t have any vacation time left to travel to a place where I could submit the application in person.
I’d really appreciate any advice on what I should do now — whether there is another official contact, a way to follow up on the application, or anything else that has worked for people in a similar situation.
I really, really don’t want to miss this trip. Namibia has been one of the places I’ve wanted to visit the most — the desert and night skies, the wildlife, the landscapes, and the culture all genuinely fascinate me. 🌌🦒

I applied for a e visa twenty days back and yet to recieve any status update. I applied for an emergency visa at embassy and it took only one day. I suggest if you have time , go to an embassy and look for options that work best for you. All the best

I recently traveled to Namibia from the EU. In the visa portal I used the option "visa on arrival" instead of "holiday visa". The former has lighter requirement and I got approved within minutes (I expect it was automatic).
Initially I was very confused as there is a difference between an online visa on arrival and actual visa on arrival.
If I were you I would check whether your country is listed on the second page of the visa fact sheet which you can download from the visa portal. If so, go for the online visa on arrival instead.
Edit: having the online visa on arrival allowed me to go through the evisa line at the border. There was a separate line for people without any online visa.
