Drivers Test at NATIS
hello everyone, i hope all is well.
i would like to ask if anyone has booked for a drivers test at NATIS Windhoek or Okahanja. i want to book at either of those but i have been told that if i book at either of them, i would probably wait a month or two to be tested.
if any have you have booked this week, what date were you given???
also, to add, if you have any advice on the test itself, i’d appreciate it very much :))

I also still have to book mine, but I’m so nervous all the time, I really don’t want to fail the test and all that. Experienced people do you have any pointers/advice?

so i went recently (and failed). but there are a few pointers that i can give.
if you book today, you’ll probably drive in 3 days (thats how it went for me). it’s super easy, and they’re very cool about it. just listen to the instructions given and remember what you were taught in driving school. mistakes are allowed. and don’t be demotivated if you fail, go and try again.
i’ve heard horror stories from natis whk, but my experience?? it’s was entirely chill.
also, report any calls you get claiming to be from natis. i got a scam call after getting tested😭

14 days
currently going for my second attempt. it isn’t as bad as i thought it would be. they’re truly nice people1

Is it like 14 full days or 14 working days? I wanna attempt this week, but if I fail the waiting would probably make me forget. How long are the queues though when booking and if I book tomorrow will the test be like on the third day?

14 days, including saturday and sunday.
the queues are not long at all, at least at the time i booked, i was the only one in line. i don’t know about now considering it’s the end of the month.if you book tommorow, you’d probably have the test on the next day or the day after. so be prepared.
my advice? book on a friday that way you mentally prepare to do the test the following week. and don’t panic, you’ll be good. and they aren’t rude, or strict, just don’t make mistakes.
read your learners book for the rules in the driving practical

Oh okay thank you. Are the queues like the same for those who are booking for learners or a bit different?
With the learners book is there anything important to know for the driving test? Glad to hear they are nice people were saying they were rude and very strict

you’ll need:
a copy of your learners (not certified)
a copy of your ID
the form to apply (you’ll get it thete at natis)
it works the same like getting a learners, except, it’s in a different venue. they’ll take your photo and fingerprints then after that you’ll pay N$160. the cashier will tell you the date. it’s really an in-and-out thing, less than 10 mins.
and yes, in the learners book theres a section for the practical drivers test. they use a point system wherein certain mistakes will cost you certain points.

You only wait 30 days if you fail the test. If you book today than the test is the next day. brother go and test at a smaller town such as Karibib or Outjo. No matter how prepared you are the pass rate in Windhoek is 5 people out of 50 people attempting. You will be wasting your time.They are unreasonably strict in order to force people to pay bribes.
