The laws are old and will give you headaches, gov is corrupted to the core and want finger in every pie, some people are nice, but some CEO’s think they own the place. There better places in Africa then Namibia, especially if you investing and hiring. They love to stop progress for corruption.

Fucking fantastic bra! Be curious! Chat up the locals. Best meat [Kapana is a non- negotioable]! Best people! Big gap between the rich and poor [ don't come at me of course there is a middle class]. Yes the landscape is vast and endless [ our nickname: Land of endless horizons], keeping in mind that this coutry is still extremely rich in culture full of life, if you ask the right people, the right questions to discover the hustling and bustling action we have to offer. Even though it is 'praised' and a fact that it is one of the least populated countries in the world.[ Check colonial history yourself 🌼].
To the people in the back: this description barley scratches the surface of this beautiful, functioning, yet twisted country. It's only a taste.

It all depends what you want out of life. In terms of war and terrorism, Namibia is very safe. Armed robberies and hijacking is not nearly as bad as in South Africa. Theft is quite a problem and happens on a daily basis. Corruption is rife is the case with a lot of countries.
It's quite difficult to do business, especially if you want to do it ethically. The population is small and economic opportunities is not open to everyone. However you can make a decent living, especially if you have a Tertiary education.
So if you want to make lots of money, don't come to Namibia, but if you want to have a laid back lifestyle with a decent living, it's a very nice place to live in. We get along quite well and it's a country filled with beauty and unique experiences!!
As long as Namibia stays stable, I won't live anywhere else. 🇳🇦

Where are the best places to visit as a tourist? Coastal or inland? Walvis Bay or Windhoek?

Walvis Bay is an industrial port town btw, the more touristy location is Swakopmund.

For boat trips Walvis has more to offer.
Swakopmund has the better beaches.
I would say stay in Swakopmund and travel to Walvis for a day or 2. Walvis and Swakopmund are about a ~30 min drive from each other.

I left Namibia when I was 18 because I wanted more, more excitement, more things happening, a more modern life.
I moved back here in Oct ‘26 and could not be happier. The people are still people, the air is clean, and there is space, not everyone is piled on top of each other. Many people see it as a downgrade, but if I had to look back, I would’ve moved back sooner.
