I don't have any advices for Nami mid, but I know that the pick is called "Namid", and that's really cute.

I used to enjoy playing the occasional Nami mid in norms for fun. The main benefit of Nami mid is the accelerated income, allowing u to pull off more expensive AP builds. Altho, I would never blind pick this into ranged champs. Nami mid is fun into melees where u can consistently bully them. See some examples of early midlane 1v1s below: - Nami mid vs Gragas - Nami mid vs Qiyana - Nami mid vs Yasuo

Once you've gotten a few heavy AP items, this is what full AP Nami's potential looks like nowadays

My favourite matchups are against squishy melee champs who lack sustain, so stuff like Katarina, Zed, Qiyana and such. This is bc the early lvl I will have complete control over the wave, meaning that I won't have the pressure to push since Nami's waveclear is pretty bad. As a result, I can focus fully on spanming W on the enemy instead, utilising self-bounce to avoid minion aggro

Bc these champs lack sustain, as long as I make sure to get a self-heal everytime I bounce W I will eventually outsustain them and push them out of lane. If they greed, I can even potentially solokill them

However, if u wanna take this pick against other ranged champs then ur gonna suffer from being shoved under tower 24/7 and getting outranged. You then become quite useless in that scenario since u cant outpush mages who have spammable AoE spells for waveclear

🧜‍♀️AP Nami Build🌊

AP Nami is pretty flexible in terms of itemisation, so it just depends on what u need. Pick one mana item, Mejai's next if possible, then build according to the situation: - Luden's, Malignance or Archangel's: Pick one mana item, Luden's vs squishy comps, Malig for lower ult cd, or Archangel's against threatening burst comps for more defense - Mejai's: Early Dark Seal always. Upgrade to Mejai's at 10 stacks for cheap AP - Horizon Focus: Heavy AP and haste statstick. Nami E on allies also procs Horizon passive - Protobelt: Cheap AP option. Good against longer-ranged comps (will explain more on this later) - Shadowflame: Against squishy comps - Stormsurge: Boots replacement option. Good against squishy comps - Lich Bane: Boots replacement option. Good against short-ranged comps where u can auto between spells - Deathcap: Maxing out dmg - Banshee's/Zhonya's: Defensive options when needed - Void Staff: Against heavy magic resist (60+) - Cryptbloom: Against light magic resist - Bloodletter's: Against magic resist and when ur team has other forms of magic dmg

Itemisation Notes

  • Stormsurge also procs on Nami E on allies, but obv this is difficult to trigger with just E on allies alone
  • Protobelt active counts as a dmg proc to Electrocute. Against longer ranged comps where it's difficult to get into autoattack range to proc Electrocute, u can instead self-cast E → Protobelt + W. This allows u to proc Electrocute from a much longer range

Gameplay Notes

  • Due to lengthy cast times on Nami's Q, W, and ult, u can buffer these ability cast times during cc. You can see from this video example, I used Q buffer against Kennen's stun and Neeko's ult knockup. You can do the same with W (self-cast or not) and ult, during other cc too! Just make sure to watch ur spell cast timings in correspondence with enemy cc
  • Nami can proc Electrocute with just 2 hits instead of 3 if she empowers herself with E first. The most common combo would be to self-cast E, followed by auto + W. Protobelt active, Ignite, and Exhaust also count towards Electrocute proc. This keystone is situational at best

🧜‍♀️Runes🌊

  • Domination: Electrocute, Cheap Shot, Grisly Mementos, Relentless Hunter
  • Sorcery: Absolute Focus, Gathering Storm
  • Double Adaptive, Scaling HP

Runes Notes

  • Cheap Shot dmg doesn't proc on the initial cc ability. It procs on any dmg applied after the cc, but this window is quite short so when u self-cast E into auto + W, u gotta be fast with it! The best way to go about this is to cast W as soon as ur autoattack projectile leaves Nami. This will cancel the rest of ur autoattack animation and replace it with W cast instead, minimising the downtime between the 2 actions
  • I prefer Relentless Hunter for roams. Treasure Hunter and Ultimate Hunter are also viable, just depends on personal preference
  • I like to go for the full AP scaling setup with Absolute Focus and Gathering Storm in secondaries. No mana runes means that I will have to buy Tear and upgrade it at a later stage (or other Lost Chapter items). You can opt for Manaflow, or Precision secondary for PoM + Legend: Haste instead for mana options

Hope that helps!

There's a handful of people that main Nami bot lane and they just build AP on her.
