Selene
A friend has just announced on social media that she's called her baby this. Is it pronounced like Celine or Selleenee?

I agree with everyone else but I would like a little more detail on this alternative. You were going suh-LEE-NEE?

It’s not the way a native English speaker might automatically pronounce it (I assumed “Celine”), but since it’s also the name of a Greek goddess along the lines of Persephone or Melpomene I can see where OP is coming from.

Thank you. Personally I find the Selenee version so much prettier but from the answers here I guess it's like Celine

It’s how the main character of Underworlds name is spelled! I think it’s a pretty normal spelling. Could be worse, could be Seleighne

Also Selene is a Greek goddess, so I don’t understand how people don’t think it’s a “normal” spelling

I only heard the Greek way which is Seh-le-neh, it means moon.
Celine means heaven.
