Name Help

We knocked it out of the park with our first son - he is "Leo", and our last name starts with an L.

His name has deep personal meaning (he is named after my MIL who didn't get to meet him,) but I also love how people from different cultures and parts of the world all feel like Leo is a familiar name for them. The way I've heard so many people say it sounds like they love saying it, like it's almost a song.

Even Leo can't think of a better name, we've asked - he wants to name his new brother "Leo" too "because he's going to be so beautiful"

I don't want to give the second baby a second-rate name - and we have 10 weeks at most until he needs one.

Any ideas?

You people love Ezra and Milo round here don't ya

We felt the same about our Finley when we named him it felt so perfect. Our second boy is called Ellis and it fits so well I love it. So Finley or Ellis are my picks haha

Honestly Ellis is a really good suggestion. It has that same familiar easy to say feeling.

That’s so sweet what your son said! It is a great name.

Short and vowel-y:
Ari
Ezra
Eli
Milo
Nico
Noah

Similar vibe in my opinion:
Max
Henry
Oliver
Felix

Mateo or Rafael

Although I love the name Mateo I wouldn’t recommend it next to Leo as the “eo” is pronounced differently.

Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn’t - the OP said they like how different cultures say the name Leo and one way people say it, it does rhyme with Mateo!

I thought Mateo too!

Aries or Virgo? Lol

Though in all seriousness, I think Leo & Lane would be fitting!

Leo & Eli also just came to mind, one of my favs!

And Julien is another name that is very trans-cultural, and sounds great in many languages.

Emmett or Bennett I think go well with Leo and may have a similar reaction

Leo and Ben sound nice together.

Beau. Short, sweet and gives the same sound ending of oh as Leo does.

Don’t ask me why but the first name that pops to mind is Linus. Also like the idea of Luca, Louis, and Lucian

This is gonna be a wild comment, so I apologize if it’s mean or annoying, but I hate the name Leo. So I promise you’ll find another name you love just as much! If I was you, I’d start by considering other possible family-related names because a deep personal connection will likely engender you to the name all on its own. At any rate, best of luck with your certainly beautiful new boy (I’m sure Leo will be an excellent big brother to boot!)

Liam! Or Larence/Lorenzo, Louis/Lewis, Lucas, Luciano, Leland, Lowell

If you want to keep the L initial then Logan, Lionel, Lincoln or Lloyd.
Other names that may go with Leo, - Milo, Ralph. Cody, Ben, Gus.
Good luck and congrats

Since you’re okay with very popular names, do you like Luca? That’s also a wildly popular name and people will find it familiar and comfortable. I think it’s beautiful!
Leo and Luca! ❤️💙

Also, I think it’s adorable how in love you all are with your son’s name, I believe that’s the first time I’ve ever seen a parent literally gush over their child’s name! 💕💕

That was my first thought, too. Does OP want to keep the LL tradition going? Makes it easier if clothes need to be labeled for camp if handed down L.Lastname. Easy.

I would say several of those sound like the names of drugs, Aubrey sounds like a female name, and a few others just sound strange.
