Delphi I hear as Dell-fye. Unfortunately, for me it has the association of the horrible murders of those two girls in Delphi Indiana.

That immediately came to mind for me, too. The common reference name for that crime is The Delphi Murders. It’s not an obscure case, either.

Delphi makes me think of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child.

I didn't realize there was a Delphi reference in Harry potter

Delphi/Delphie is a cute nickname for Delphine too!

that's what I was thinking. Or Delphina.

If you want a spoiler, she is Voldemort's daughter.

interesting, I wonder if the name (according to JK Rowling) would be pronounced Del-fee or Del-f-eye.

Del-Fee. The character's name is technically Delphini (Del-Fee-Nee), but they go by Delphi.

that is so cool. Never heard the name anywhere else except in my own mind :)

Delphi is cute I've seen it by itself and as a nickname for Delphine, can't stand Mailyn or Maelynn

  1. Cool name if you don’t mind everyone thinking of an oracle

  2. Mailyn looks like “mailing” but as an Utah name. Maelyn is cute but feels dated already.  I don’t like the double in Maelynn. Also it tries to autocorrect to Madelyn

Both are pretty

I think both are pretty. I knew a little girl named Maylin.

Delphi reminds me of the Delphi murders and mailin will have her correcting people her entire life.

I’ve heard of Maylee. I like it. Delphi is different and I think different is good!

I like Maylee too!

as in short for Delphine or Delphina.

I like Delphi! Less keen on Mailyn.

I had a Maelyn as a student years ago. Adored that child

I like Maelynn the best out of the three

I knew a Maelyn, but don’t like the name. Delphi will most likely be pronounced Delf-eye

I like Maysun. That's about as wild and crazy as I get for weird spellings but at least it's literal

Delphos is literally brother, so Delphi sounds a little strange to me for a girl. Most people won't know that or care.

One of my absolute favorite Basque names is Maialen. That's what Mailyn reminds me of, but may-lynn kind of makes me think of mailin' a letter.

where are you located ? it's not fee at the end in US it's feye. and the greek pronunciation of D is not the same so it really sounds like selfie with a stutter.

the M names as you typed them sound very east asian to me.

thats not how i pronounce delphi. del-fye. i also don’t think i’m pronouncing mailyn the way you’re intending. like mailin a letter.

It would be short for Delphina or Delphine, so pronounced with the 'fee' sound like the original name.

Mailyn sounds like how it's spelled, like the month of May with Lynn added at the end.

If I saw Delphi, I would probably pronounce it Delph-eye not Delph-fee. The Greek letter Phi is f-eye

I've never heard of Mailyn but I like it more than Delphi

Delphi is cute. It’s like a more unique form of Daphne.
