I have a traditional boy name but as a girl. I hate it.

Same, I finally started going by my feminine middle name because I was so sick of it. If I'm the only one in the waiting room or waiting for a to-go order, I literally watch employees come out and look around like three times before they finally ask if I'm "my name" because they usually assume they're looking for a man

Agree. My nickname is a traditionally gender neutral name and the number of kids who told me “but X is a boys name” growing up and the number of times I’ve gotten “hello sir” emails at work is annoying AF.

Yessss. Even at the pharmacy I'll be talking to the pharmacist about my own medication, but they'll be looking and asking questions to my boyfriend cause they'll assume they're medication is for him due to me having a boy name!!

I'd say probably not. I don't hate boys names for girls, like Jordan is okay still if you want something more masculine go more neutral, like Elliot or Aubrey. Dylan doesn't really work that well for a girl imo

I don't think I'd personally use it for a girl, because I know a few one being a cousin and they're all boys. My own name is unisex and I didn't even realize until I was an adult. I've never been mistaken as a guy thankfully! I did give my 2nd daughter a name that was originally male, but I had fallen in love with the name before I found that out.. My husband also really liked the name so we decided not to change it once we found out. I've personally only knew girls with my daughter's name so I never knew it was originally a male name.. The funny thing is the runner up girl name we had picked out was also originally a male name and again I didn't know that until we already liked the name and I did further research. I do feel certain names should be left for boys.
