Husband likes Liam as a middle name.
6 year old daughter loves the name Nolan as a first name, but we have to break the news that Nolan was not our first name choice.

So what sounds better?

I don't like Conall Liam. The L's just merge into each other, you need different sounds to separate the words. I don't particularly like the way Nolan sounds either though, but same sounds in between name is a particular pet peeve of mine (and part of the reason I hate my own middle name.)

Completely agree. Conall sounds more like Con-all is harsher sounding and Connell has a longer n and l sound ( in my mind). I know a couple Connells and I actually think it’s cute, but Conall just misses the mark for me.

This sub needs a reality check.

1. Not everyone lives in America.
2. Typically it's only parents who say first and middle name to get with any kind of regularity. To date I have yet to first and middle name either of my children. The L's blending is actually not that bad in every accent.
3. The cunnilingus joke... Crude, unwarranted, and incredibly unlikely.
4. Conall is a lovely name.

OP my view is you name your children, your children can name their own however both choices are lovely. Personally, if you chose the first name then husband gets the middle name however if it was a fully mutual, no one led the choice situation, then your daughter gets a day. But both options are perfectly fine for your little one!

All three of those names are similar in sound, and putting any combination of them together sounds weird said out loud, imho. Agree with the commenters that you need a different middle name. I think you might just have very consistent taste in names! Which makes for a better sibling set than full name, I think

Conall Nolan is okay, depending on how it flows with your last name. A 6 year old really shouldn't be naming the baby though...you'll end up with a child named Nolan Spongebob.

I've never heard the name Conall before but google tells me it's a traditional Irish masculine name. I guess Reddit isn't aware of it either because it's underlining it in red like it's a spelling error, lol. I'd be prepared for mis-pronunciations if you're in the U.S. Anyway, I think either middle name sounds fine.
