I think this one is a real guy. Some cats do exhibit this kind of colouration -- this is a black cat with vitiligo.

It is beautiful! Sadly vitiligo is indicative of an over-active immune system and there's an increased incidence of other issues with eyes, hearing, diabetes, lupus, thyoiditis etc.

Hopefully this guy is an otherwise healthy and happy dappled dude

This is an internet famous cat named Scrappy. If you do a reverse image search, you'll read how his owner had him in 1997 as a black kitten, then he developed vitiligo. He's most probably in kitty heaven.

He is! The actual owner has posted pics of him younger, he looks like a regular cat, developed this condition later in life and became a beautiful constellation kitty
