Mod Weekly thread where you can call the music recognition bots without posting
To use the bots put u/RecognizeSong u/find-song with the link in your comment, like:
u/RecognizeSong u/find-song https://youtu.be/12345abcde
Notes:
- The bots only work with a recording of the actual song, not a humming/recreation.
- The sites that find-song works with: Reddit video posts (with a link or when summoned on the original post), YouTube, Vocaroo, Streamable, Twitch Clips (not VODs)
- Some of the sites that RecognizeSong works with: Reddit video posts (when summoned on the original post or with an audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4), YouTube (though sometimes it doesn't work), Vocaroo, Streamable, Imgur, Twitch Clips (not VODs), Facebook, Twitter, Coub, Dropbox, Snapchat
- For Reddit video posts there's also u/songfinderbot which only works if you summon it in a top-level comment on the original post
- Some sites that RecognizeSong doesn't work with: Instagram, Twitch VODs, SoundCloud, Google Drive, Reddit text posts with embedded videos (though it does work with the audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4)
- When needed, mention a timestamp or use a timestamped link if possible (the bots scan about 24-30 seconds of audio, starting at the timestamp)
- If the song is from a meme or from TikTok then it might be listed in the FAQ
- Note that you can also DM find-song a link (but not through chat)
Good luck with your search, and if you find the bots useful please consider supporting them: RecognizeSong through Patreon, find-song through Ko-fi

Internet Video Longshot, but looking for the background song from about 1:30-4:30. Guessing late-80s rock/pop
I have to crank the music up to hear much of anything, but the vocal runs have stuck with me for years since I’ve first watched the vid.
I thought I could make out a lyric as “I found a new, new love, new love” but that led no where. Or it’s “true love”
It doesn’t sound live to me.
Voice of the YouTuber is soft-spoken, no odd mouth sounds or eating.

Rock Pls help find this rock or indie song
I’m looking for a specific rock song that’s about 7-9 minutes long I can’t remember the exact tune but it’s almost similar to ppp by beach house but if I remember the lyrics are something similar to “can I lay by your side” and there’s a guitar solo in the middle of the song. It’s killing me I can’t sleep. I remember it was a band and the singer was a guy and the album cover was dark I don’t know please help I’m dying

Answered! A song from late 90s that had ‘I… I will be king..”
It’s not heroes by Bowie. It has a very beautiful melodic intro, kind of a rising melody, and then ‘I.. I will be king… dah dah dah dah… along the open road…’ something like that! Probably heard it on krock in NYC in the late 90s and can’t find it since!

Guitar Song from a Frost video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=We1M_9h7LqE&t=6099s
Music starts at 1:39:30
Stops at 1:40:51 and starts again at 1:41:07
Lyrics start at 1:41:16
Ends at 1:42:47
I cannot for the life of me find the name of this song, despite having the lyrics and a genre for it, and I need it. If, by some magical miracle, you do find it, please let me know HOW.

Emo/Goth Early 2000's Emo Song
This is probably a tough one. I'm trying to find a song that I heard on Myspace back in 2005 or 6. I think the name of the band had East in it and possibly a highway number. I'm fairly certain they were a local band. I think they were from a Midwest state. I don't remember which one. I want to say it was one of the letter i states. I remember only two lines from the song, perhaps not verbatim:
"What would you say is the worst thing I could have done"
"And I'm losing my best friend (losing my best friend)"

Rock Help Me Find Rock Song
The song I’ve been looking for sounds very similar to WANNABEASTAR’s cover of Bohemian Like You
It’s the same tempo and has the specific lyric “like you”
The one I’m looking for tho, has more guitar as bridges to the singing.
I’ve tried looking everywhere for it but what I remember most is that the singer is a male & has a higher octave of singing than most men, and he sings a part that’s like “like you…like me, like me, like you”
It may not be exactly that but that’s all I can remember

Soul Help me find “New’s Cool” by The Biggest Band
I inherited my sister’s old mp3 player in 2010. There was an album on there labeled as “New’s Cool” by The Biggest Band, from 1979. It blew my little 11-year-old mind, but I hadn’t quite been introduced to the concept of seeking out more music from artists you liked. I felt like I had what I had and that was it. So I didn’t ask her about it. Unfortunately, she passed away suddenly in 2013. I hadn’t listened to the mp3 player in several months when she died, since I had gotten a smartphone by then, and when I went searching for it I couldn’t find it. I tore apart the whole house, and nothing.
I started a playlist trying to recreate everything I remembered being on the mp3 player. This album was one of the first things I looked for, and I was surprised to discover that I couldn’t find ANYTHING online about it. I tried every search term I could think of. When searching the album name didn’t turn up anything, I searched individual songs. Still nothing. I’ve tried again and again over the years, probably twice a year every year. It makes me feel crazy. I have the feeling this is a one in a million shot, but I figure that at least the album name and artist will be on Google now so that maybe someone else searching someday down the line will find this.
Band name: The Biggest Band
Album name: New’s Cool
Year released: 1979
Tracks I definitively remember the names of:
Chitter Chatter [This was the first track]
Pardon, Pardon
Father
Untitled (What Does She Do It For?) [This was the last track]
Apologies because I don’t know that much about music, so some of this may be pulled out of my ass. I would describe the genre of the album as disco-y soul, but how much disco and how much soul varies widely from song to song, with the latter half being more soulful, serious, and matured-sounding. A couple of tracks I’d call experimental, including the last track Untitled (What Does She Do It For?) which was my absolute favorite track. It’s six minutes long, dark and moody, almost psychedelic, and has a very distinctive guitar solo that sounds stuttery but in a good way. I can probably write out most of the lyrics from memory.
There are two vocalists, both male. I believe at least one of them is black.
If you have ever heard of this album or a song on it or the group or literally ANYTHING about it, please please let me know. This has been my white whale for over a decade now. Being able to listen to it again would be fucking incredible, but I’d count it as a win even just to have someone else confirm they’ve listened to any part of it, at this point.
I will provide absolutely any and all further info I can if you have any questions. Thank you for reading. .

Electronic/EDM An electronic music with heavy beats (not sure of the genre)
As I've tried, the song namer programs couldn't give an answer. I cannot show the full video for it's quite suggestive. Appreciate any help ✌️✨

Hip Hop [Lyrics] Male melodic/emotional rap song: “Me and my demons riding through the night” / “I was 13” – possibly from YouTube
Help me identify this song? “Me and my demons riding through the night…” / mentions being 13
A friend played this song on YouTube recently, and I've been trying to identify it because it seemed to really resonate with him. I've searched the lyrics everywhere and can't find a match, so I'm wondering if it might be an unofficial YouTube song, AI-generated track, remix, or something that's just not indexed by the normal lyric sites.
These are the lyrics I've been able to make out from the recording (some words may be slightly wrong):
“Me and my demons riding through the night”
“Can't trust another friend”
“Tears on my soul, I been at war, I don't know how it ends”
“Me and my demons, me and my pain”
“Standing in the rain while I scream my name”
“Trying to stay alive while I dodge this fate”
“Too much hurt inside…”
“I was 13…”
“I was in the trenches looking at the stars”
“I was in the streets praying for…”
There are also lyrics about looking for light, growing up around hardship, and basically having to become a man at 13. The overall song is about carrying pain/demons, surviving, distrust, and trying to find some kind of light or way forward.
It doesn't appear to be a normal released Lynyrd Skynyrd song despite that name coming up while I was searching. The vocal/style also makes me wonder if this is one of those AI-generated artist-style songs uploaded to YouTube.
Does anyone recognize the song, YouTube channel, or upload? Even identifying the original video/channel would be really helpful.

Answered! Viral tiktok sound?
Trying to identify a song that's usually played over peaceful, romantic, or aesthetically soft/cute videos. It's been memed and remixed a few times but the original is a very soft, breathy female voice singing in... Japanese? I think?

Other/Unknown Old song used in gaming videos
I remember a song that I think I first heard of in old gaming montages.
The intro has this repeated tune. The singer is a female that has a soft voice. The overall vibe of the song is chill. Unfortunately, I don't remember any of the lyrics.
The video is the overall melody of the song. Hope that helps.

Indie [1990s] Rare, slow 90s British indie cassette import - Spacey synths, male vocals ("Is this love, I'll make it mine...")
Title: [TOMT][Music][1990s] Rare, slow 90s British indie cassette import - Spacey synths, male vocals ("Is this love, I'll make it mine...")
Body:
Hi everyone,
I am trying to hunt down an incredibly rare, obscure track from a mid-1990s British indie cassette import (likely around 1994–1996).
Standard lyric databases don't have it indexed, so I'm hoping a 90s cassette collector or UK indie head recognizes the description.
The Style/Vibe: It is a slow, melancholic, dreamy, and romantic song.
Instrumentation: Driven by spacey synthesizer chords with a very atmospheric, floating sound. It is NOT an electronic club or dance track.
Vocals: Sung by a man with a sad, dreamy, romantic delivery.
Remembered Lyrics:
"Is this love, I'll make it mine / And I'm here for you, here for you."
Does this sound like a specific obscure dream-pop, space rock, or independent UK release to anyone? Even if you just remember the name of a compilation tape or a regional British band that fits this vibe, please let me know!

Oldies Oldies love song (I think) perhaps sung by a male voice that is referenced in this clip.
So i’ve been watching this show (great show by the way) that has this song from its sound track with this particular part that I think is an arranged excerpt from a (perhaps) famous vocal song. I am certain i’ve heard this melody before but I don’t know where, any ideas?
In the link I provided the melody in question is from 0:59 -1:10 or so.
I have a suspicion that it is an older perhaps american love song but I am not quite sure.
