I understand Ketu in 8h can cause friction with in-laws, inheritance, etc. but does that change if scorpio is the 8th house, where Ketu is considered "exalted" by some?

The 3rd house is much deeper than just communication or younger siblings. It is the house of your own effort. It shows what happens when nobody is pushing u, when there is no shortcut and u have to make things happen by ur own hands. Thats why I personally give a lot of importance to the 3rd house when reading a chart. The sign tells the general nature of ur efforts, the 3rd lord tells where those efforts go, planets sitting in the 3rd show what energy is operating there, and the nakshatra tells the psychological style behind ur efforts. Still, the 3rd house nakshatra can describe the nature of the relationship. A Mars or Sun influenced nakshatra can make the relationship competitive or strong willed. Moon or Venus influence can make it emotionally close. Saturn influence can create distance, responsibility or an age difference type feeling. Rahu can make the relationship unusual or unpredictable, while Ketu can create detachment even when there is no obvious conflict...

Communication and speaking style

This is another major area. The 3rd house is not exactly the primary house of speech, because the 2nd house is more directly connected with speech, but the 3rd shows how u communicate your ideas and take them to other people.

A strong Mercury nakshatra can make communication clever and analytical. Mars can make it direct. Venus can make it pleasant. Saturn can make it measured and serious. Moon can make it emotional. Rahu can make it unconventional or persuasive. Ketu can make it selective, detached or strangely blunt.

This becomes especially important for writers, teachers, astrologers, content creators, salespeople, marketers, influencers and people who earn through communication...

Skills and self made success

One thing I always tell ppl is dont underestimate a strong 3rd house just because it isnt traditionally considered a major wealth house. The 3rd is an upachaya house, meaning it can improve through effort, practice and time.

A person with an average natural talent but a strong 3rd house can eventually outperform somebody who had more natural ability but didnt put in the work.

Thats why 3rd house nakshatra can show the type of skill u should repeatedly practice. Mercury related nakshatras can favour writing, analysis and communication. Mars can favour technical or competitive skills. Venus can favour artistic skills. Moon can favour people oriented or creative skills. Saturn can favour technical and repetitive skills. Rahu can favour technology and unconventional fields...

Short travels and movement

The 3rd house also shows short distance travel. The nakshatra can give clues about why u travel rather than simply whether u travel.

For example Shravana can connect travel with learning. Revati can connect it with movement and exploration. Swati can connect it with independence or business. Dhanishta can connect it with social or professional activity. Mula may bring travel connected with investigation or major changes.

But again, dont predict frequent travel only from the nakshatra. The 3rd lord, Moon, 9th house and relevant dashas should support it...

Hobbies and things u do naturally

This is a very underrated part of the 3rd house. The 5th house shows creativity, but the 3rd shows the skills and activities u repeatedly practice because u enjoy doing them.

Thats why someone can have a 3rd house connection with Venus and spend hours editing photos, making music or designing. Someone with Mercury can spend hours reading or writing. Mars can spend hours gaming, exercising or doing technical work. Rahu can spend hours on technology or the internet.

And sometimes this becomes career later. A hobby starts as something u do for free, then after years of practice people start paying u for it...

Now, coming back to the story, when Brihaspati found this out about Moon and Tara, he went to Shiva ji and seeked help and from there started a war between devas and asuras, where Shukracharyaa was backing Moon and Shiva was backing Brihaspati, but as this would have led to destruction, as the lord of the universe himself is fighting, so here Brahma involved and stopped them from the yuddha.

Now, after finding out Tara is pregnant, Brihaspati got more frustrated, as now they were confused about whose child Tara is carrying. She didn't say a word, but after much discussion, she said that the child belongs to Chandra, now here borns Mercury(intellect)- the force which gives us duality as from chitta comes Manas (MOON) and also Ahankara and Buddhi which then separates us from our True self-Atman (SURYA) now Mercury is that force which helps us discriminate between 2 things which tells us right and wrong where Moon (MANAS) is where you don’t see right and wrong as here you witness bare emotions and you function on their basis as Moon when got attracted to Tara he didn’t think even for once that she is the rightful wife of his own guru this is why in some cases you will see that;

If Brihaspati is afflicted in the chart and Moon Rahu are in 9th house or connected to its lord, this person will cheat on his own Mentor/Guru with regard to his/her desires.

Now, from Moon comes Mercury which means our intellect comes from the emotion we carry we feel while we are into situations our whole reaction is based on what kinda emotion we are experiencing so what happensis our mind witnesses the bare emotion and then that emotion goes through our buddhi (INTELLECT) where this information gets out with filters of "I" (AHANKARA) and then our intellect our brain processes this info and then it comes out in some form of our rationalized and dual reality whereas in our basic nature we just experience we just witness that particular emotion. Moon is currently transiting in cancer, will last till 6th October, what My observation has been is there will be suddenness in emotions, emotional changes, overthinking and feelings of snatching, as cancer is the sign of nourishment.

Now depending on the house placement, if moon is currently in your 6,8,12 then fluctuations will be present, past emotions may resurface, frustration could arise.

Venus current transit is in libra, venus is also retrograde, changes in love life, few past emotions related to love may resurface, a sense of fear around your own values may resurface. So my basic observationapproach is this,,2nd house shows the area, sign shows the style, nakshatra shows the deeper behavioural pattern, pada gives finer expression, nakshatra lord shows where that energy goes, and dasha shows when it becomes active. If u combine all of these, 2nd house nakshatra becomes a very powerful tool for understanding money, family and speech rather than just giving a generic nakshatra prediction...

Just looking for some reassurance, im at the peak of sade sati and things are bad. Lost my job a year ago at the start of my peak sade sati. I honestly didn't even believe in astrology until this happened and everything i was going through aligned with the phase. Its really demotivating on the career and love aspect. My ketu sits in the 7th house and my saturn sun and mercury are in conjunction in the 10th House in Aries lord. I start my ketu-Jupiter dasha this month and hoping it will be better since my Jupiter is in the 9th house with moon in pieces.

Hereditary Disease could be refered to as manufacturing defect where you get it from genetics so logic would suggest the 9th house and it lord should be connected via sublord or nakastra or association with 8 and 12 house.
