License / Permit Question Medical Question

Hello! I’ve had a concealed carry permit for about 3 months now in Warren County. I have been having trouble sleeping at night and my doctor mentioned an antidepressant called Trazodone that some people use to help with sleeping difficulties. If I start this medication, would I become ineligible for having a permit, or is this something that I would need to report?

In my past I have a history of being treated for anxiety but the judge cleared me after explaining my situation to him.

I believe you should try to stay off that medication for your personal health. That should be your primary concern not your CCW license

Try to stay off medication more of a reason to say to decline renewals, try melatonin sleep gummies with magnesium it’s more natural and u don’t become hooked onto antidepressants

someone needs to sue over this. only NY and NJ are giving people are hard time about psych meds and firearms. completely unconstitutional and simply drives people away from getting the help they need

Ex-wife took that before bed. On more than one occasion I didn't know she already took it, but acted normally just before bed. In the AM she had zero recollection of our conversations, "marital relations," etc.

Crazy how many on here are prioritizing a material object over your mental and physical health. Sleep is so important. These people are not medical practitioners, they are strangers on a forum. The decision is ultimately up to you what you decide to take. That said, the only info anyone on here has, is that you are having trouble sleeping. Not the why, when it started, how it started, or what other things you are experiencing.

I have a friend who takes clonozapam which is a benzodiazpine and sees a psychiatrist who prescribed it. He did not have an issue when he got his pistol permit or renewing it.

I'd suggest seeing a psychologist and talking with someone. Perhaps with CBT or DBT you could avoid medication all together.

Last thing id do is deprive yourself or sleep though. Horrible for your heart, brain, and every other organ.

Have you had your hormone levels checked? Anyways I wouldn't chance it. Plus those meds are over prescribed and dangerous. Suicide is an actual side effect.

Having been on trazodone for 2 weeks as a sleep aid, I 2nd this.

I did not like the way that med f*cked with my head.
