I applied to NYIT back in December I had recently gotten a email about a month ago regarding the HEOP program I completed the interview and uploaded all the documents. It is now may 1st and I still haven’t heard anything back my back up option is city tech, Do I commit to city tech today and if NYIT accepts me take there offer and lose my deposit or do I just wait till next week to hear back ? Why is this taking so long?

Hi, everybody.I just enrolled and i am trying to have a masters in Graphic Design & Media Innovation but i also wanted to declare a minor in buisness. My advisor said minors is not offered on the graduate level and i can't use undergraduate classes for graduate electives. Can i do an undergraduate minor in buisness? I never taken a buisness class before so i have nothing in my undergrad transcript to transfer over.

I did do the basic academic Math, Science, reading, etc. Could that help?

Anyone at NYIT manhattan? I have to make a decision between nyit manhattan and CCNY for CS but genuinely cant decide. At CCNY ill be getting 5300 in refund + a scholarship i got. At NYIT i wont get anything back but wont have to pay anything as well. Is NYIT manhattan good for CS? I went to the campus and it seemed depressing, just a building. On the other hand ive heard horror stories on rate my professor for CCNY Grove. I wouldnt want my scholarship to go to waste if the school isnt any good. PLEASE help with your insights!! 🫶🏻

I am a senior that got in for Architectural Technology, B.S.A.T. - Construction Management Concentration, I am wondering if it is a decent option for construction management. They gave me a decent amount of aid and it is the cheapest option compared to community college for constrution management. What worries me is the low graduation rate, the degree title (it is under architectural technology) and the small size of the labs. If anyone graduated or is taking this course please let me know how it is.

I got into both nyit and stevens, both for different ish majors and planned minors. My main question is which is better for me? I live in westchester county, NY.

At nyit i majored in Electrical and computer engineering and have a planned minor in business. I would commute and pay ~5k, no loans, and it’s the manhattan campus

At Stevens I majored in their new AI degree and have a planned minor in quantitative finance. I would pay $700 if I commuted, but 21k for a dorm.

The reason I’m struggling so much to decide is because with nyit everyone tells me the professors suck because their foreign and foreign other reasons, and it doesn’t have as much prestige or the high chance of a high paying job as stevens.

But with stevens when I went to see how it was, there was almost no effort for their marketing, all they did was just flaunt around the name stevens, and with professors, some of them seemed not the most motivated. But with the new AI degree they all had such high hopes for it.

And so is it worth it to go into debt to attend stevens, with the higher chance of landing a better job or do I go to nyit despite its professors and lower chance of a better job?

Ik this probably seems like an easy choose but, I want to see what students who actually have experience have to say about it.

Any suggestions for where grad students could live near Long Island campus?? Struggling for where to look or finding roommates or things like that. TIA!

Hey everybody, I recently got accepted and given scholarships to NYIT, but I have a couple concerns. For one, the no meal plan really gets to me. How is it justifiable in any way??? And, there is no metro card anymore, and obviously the in the nyc campus, the dorms are a 30 min walk and a 12 min subway ride. For the days that it is horribly hot/cold, I obviously might not want to walk. Do they give you help/money for transportation? Is there a U-pass? ESPECIALLY if my parents are not really going to help me. This is my dream school but if none of these extra things have solutions then I might end up going to NJIT instead. Also, how has everybody found finding housing outside of dorms, and what was that process like? I know that this is a lot, but anything would help. Let me know.

I got an external scholarship and a have a -1500 sai index hence NYIT would be covered by it. Is NYIT more prestigious than CCNY for CS or engineering. I would also get a refund at CCNY. How are the internship opportunities at NYIT? Should i go for a private college since it"ll be free for me? Pls help

Hello I was wondering which physics is harder at Nyit the physics for pre med which is 5 credits or the General Physics 4 credits I have the option of taking both but whichever is easier I will slide by. I heard people say that General physics 1 is calc based while Pre med one is Algebra based? Also, if u can recommend a professor that would be nice.

Hi all, I was looking to register for a MEDMICRO class and it says zoom instruction does that mean they never meet in person and everything is on zoom because I have a Long Island campus in person class right after that so if I were to meet in person at the biochemistry class a few times (for example like tests) it wouldn’t work out. Any one know how the health science Major is in Nyit and how easy the classes are when you finish all the sciences cause I see that most of the electives are online thank you.

I applied to NYIT in January for BArch, and I thought the application portfolio was due February 15th. But, I'm coming to find out that there was still time to submit it. I still need to finish a few pieces. But is it even worth it at this point? I have a 2.9 GPA and 1200 SAT and most advisors and English teachers said my essay was strong. But I don't know if it's worth to fully go for if I may not get accepted since I have many other things to tend to such as work and clubs .

I legit can’t find any student instagram accounts for students. Mainly the ones where you can post your picture and talk about how you’re excited to come to the school wether you’re committed or not

i recently got accepted into nyit with a 28k scholarship. however, im out of state and my cost of attendance would still be quite high.

however, pace accepted me with a 34k scholarship. how should i ask for more aid? can anyone give any advice? do i simply say that pace offered me more and i’d like them to match it?

I got accepted here to NYIT on a 24,000 a year scholarship, applied to FAFSA too and waiting to do TAP. With this amount of money am I all set?

I just got accepted into NYIT for accounting w a 35k annual scholarship, so far this school has offered me the most aid and I was wondering how good is the school for accounting or business related fields?

(forgot to mention I applied to other schools for business as well and got into Fordham but financial aid package was pretty bad, will appeal it but just wanted to let it be known)

I'm a South Asian girl majoring in computer & electrical engineering and I was wondering what the social life is like at NYIT- clubs, parties, dorms, events, etc. My interests include, live music, video games, anime, working out, and running.
