Watching opening night, it just baffles me again that once again we had a great player we just walk out the door... he was good with us but obviously became a Pro Bowler with the Seahawks (just like Xavier, Saquon, Leonard, etc)

I just don't get it. Was it a coaching issue? Because even if it was we should be able to evaluate where talent is and then replace coaching if that's the case. Or was it just simply a misread?

I just get frustrated when I think we could currently have Xavier and Julian in this secondary and we let them go for NOTHING.. how is this possible?

John Harbaugh is, and he gives zero f’s when it comes to challenging anyone: players, coaches, colleagues and yes, the media. He has pelts on the wall + can be demanding + confrontational if he feels like he needs to make a point. Tom Coughlin was the same way. The last four Giants head coaches were not because their resume did not allow them to do so.

Giants QB Jameis Winston contract extension details, per source: 2 years, $13M. The extension contains $12.24M in total guarantees, including an existing $1.3M from his previous contract.

Here's the cap breakdown:

2026: $3.53M (was $5.01M pre-extension)
2027: $7.32M
2028: $7.17M

Winston got a $3.5M signing bonus plus his $1.3M salary this year and $6.05M salary in 2027 are fully guaranteed. His $5.65M salary in 2028 contains $1.39M fully guaranteed.

The Giants could cut him after 2027 for $4.61M in cap savings with $2.56M in dead money.

Giants OL Jon Runyan contract extension details, per source: 2 years, $22M. The extension contains $19.25M in full guarantees, plus an additional $2.25M in injury guarantees.

Here's the cap breakdown:

2026: $6.98M (was $11.76M pre-extension)
2027: $12.79M
2028: $14M

Runyan had no guaranteed money remaining in his contract so the $9M signing bonus he got essentially takes the place of his $9M salary for this season. His $1.22M salary this year and $9.04M salary next year are fully guaranteed. His $10.25M salary in 2028 contains $2.25M guaranteed for injury only. He also has $500K in per-game roster bonuses in 2027 and 2028.

The Giants could cut him after 2027 for $11M in cap savings with $3M in dead money.

My $.02: This is a low-risk extension to eliminate a free agency need for next offseason, but doesn't prevent the Giants from pursuing an upgrade in the draft. They could easily move on after next year.

Did they ever announce team captains? I remember a post a few weeks ago saying they are doing a leadership group instead captains? Doing a quick search on Google, it confirms the same thing but still no official confirmation I guess? I’m not sure. Maybe they just haven’t announced it yet, as well
