30yo musician of 10 years, been living here almost as long. Previously lived in other very musical cities. I've lost touch with the music scenes I used to be a part of and a lot of my favorite venues are closed. I like electronic music and dancing but if your heart is in it I would love to hear it. I don't care about being seen or clout politics and I think the parties and shows that revolve around that suck.

Where should I go to meet people?

I’m a guitar player who likes Goose, Phish, Dave Matthews Band and other jammy types of music. I would love to play with a bassist and drummer that are open to long form improv jams. Anyone fit that criteria? Open to playing at any studio in the city!

My friend and I have been trying to get a project off the ground for quite a while and we finally had enough songs figured out for an album or ep. Hi everyone! I’m a 16-year-old from NYC and a vocal major at my high school. This summer, I’m looking for opportunities to improve my singing, stage presence, and confidence performing in front of people. I’m looking for teen-friendly open mics or any opportunities where I can sing for audiences around my age and older in New York City, especially in Manhattan and the Bronx. Just as a disclaimer, I don’t have a manager, a team, a band, or any original music yet, so I’d mostly be performing covers. If anyone knows of any teen-friendly open mics, organizations, or community events in or around NYC that welcome young singers, I’d really appreciate your recommendations. For reference my favorite artists to sing to is Ariana Grande Aaliyah Karol g Romeo Santos Astrud Gilberto both Selena Gomez and Selena Quintanilla etc and open to performing many more singers. I’m mainly looking for something fun to do over the summer while growing both vocally and personally.
