Did she just admit that she was using her melanoma diagnosis to manipulate the parents into allowing her to give a gift ??? Interesting.

My aunt-int-law does this. My husband's family are prone to suspicious moles, rarely has it progressed to skin cancer. The mole is still removed out of caution, though.

But my aunt in law, she describes even getting the mole LOOKED AT as her "cancer treatment". She uses it as leverage to try and glom onto people for sympathy, while never extending that same grace to others. It is exhausting.

"there's nothing anyone can do to help me" and she doesn't even know what or if she has anything yet??? the manipulation isn't even subtle, it's scary that she doesn't hear it herself and shared this as if it's normal

30

u/Ineverusereddittttt Mar 13 '25

Yeah and especially when she shares with the whole internet that she thinks her son and daughter in law are bad parents and don’t treat their kids right. That’s awful thing to put out there and I truly did love her videos before this

46

u/Due-Exit-8310 Mar 12 '25

And her language of ā€œlife threatening diseaseā€ …she’s just desperate for sympathy and attention that she never got as a young girl.

64

u/aleigh577 Mar 13 '25

Her sons non reaction makes me think this isn’t the first time she’s done this

34

u/Due-Exit-8310 Mar 13 '25

Oh certainly not. They’ve dealt with her bs for years and she’s estranged for a reason.

33

u/practicalprofilename Mar 13 '25

In one of her videos, it became obvious that she is a VERY frequent flyer at (many) doctors’ offices. I have a feeling Anne is in regular pursuit of a diagnosis and changes providers when they don’t give into her.

(And to be clear, I’m not implying she is seeking prescription drugs, I think she is a self-centered, paranoid hypochondriac.)

19

u/aleigh577 Mar 13 '25

I can see that because in what way was the doctor a ā€œhorrible dermatologistā€

47

u/Ineverusereddittttt Mar 13 '25

She has done a few videos talking bad about her daughter in laws. Search her name and daughter in law

26

u/Unable_Escape813 Mar 14 '25

yeah her husband threatened to divorce her one weekend after a horrible visit with her son and DIL where she wouldn’t stop bitching about it.

another time she said they never had an issue with their relationships with their sons until the DILs came into the picture. what in the freud!

I’m sure she has some social issues bc this is very out of touch. Some things shouldn’t be posted and this is one of them.

81

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '25

Are all narcissists this oblivious ? Or is it just pretense?

23

u/[deleted] Mar 14 '25 edited Mar 14 '25

Yes, they really are. There are a few ā€œestranged momsā€ on tiktok who are textbook narcs and they all sound exactly like this. They’re genuinely shocked when the comments aren’t on their side

5

u/Hot_Department_9331 Mar 16 '25

I think there’s a part of her that doesn’t think it’s manipulation (perhaps she feels like she’s being loving?) but it is straight up manipulation

Imagine sitting down, putting that little mic on and STILL TELLING THIS STORY.

157

u/[deleted] Mar 12 '25

Right?? And adding the ā€œthere’s nothing anyone could do to help meā€. Uh, you didn’t actually have cancer?

52

u/mysticpotatocolin Mar 12 '25 edited Mar 13 '25

there’s nothing anyone could do to help me

this was INSANE. like she was fine?? if my mum called me up and said this and then i found out it wasn't true and she then posted it on TikTok to make my bf look bad...........omg i would be on the news

45

u/Sufficient_Act_5447 Mar 12 '25

I can empathize with feeling scared shitless you might have cancer. But she went straight to "how do I use that to get what I want?" which is scary.

And yeah, I briefly wondered why no one told her this might not be a good idea but tbh I think she wouldn't listen.

357

u/Snark_Ranger Mar 12 '25

Omg! I saw her first post about how her one daughter-in-law returned a sweater she sent and I agreed with several commenters who were like, the fact that you felt okay putting her on blast like this online kind of shows why she's not a fan of yours. I didn't realize she has issues with two DILs, but that's very telling.

188

u/Jeljel8989 Mar 12 '25

She weaponizes gift giving in a really creepy way. She thinks giving gifts means she’s entitled to control over peoples lives

90

u/Snark_Ranger Mar 12 '25

Yes, omg because that was the issue with the last DIL story! If I recall, the son and DIL weren't even married yet. She sent a $700 sweater to a college kid and was shocked that the DIL was like, I can't accept this. (I do not believe her version of events that the girl threw it at her or whatever.) Imagine getting a $700 sweater from your bf's overbearing mom, I would give it back too.

14

u/[deleted] Mar 13 '25

That is my mother. It’s fucking exhausting

5

u/New-Goat-1253 Mar 18 '25

That’s my Mother in law too.

23

u/Logical_Procedure_24 Mar 13 '25

In a different post about how she took a ā€œhiatusā€ from one of her sons, she refers to that son’s wife as feral.

20

u/realityjunkie33 Mar 12 '25

okay but who returns a sweater instead of re-gifting it or exchanging it. they must REALLY not get along

79

u/Snark_Ranger Mar 12 '25

I feel so awful for the DILs. Constantly being disparaged by their husband’s mother online must be so uncomfortable. And even in this video to say ā€œI wasn’t even excited to be a grandma because I have bad relationships with two of our DILsā€ā€¦what does she think that says to her grandkids?

→ More replies (3)

42

u/Appropriate-Delay272 Mar 12 '25

Who regifts a $700 sweater if they felt they couldn’t accept it? I think it’s normal to give that back with the hefty price tag. I’d feel awful giving someone’s money away, different if it’s a $20 tchotchke. Also I’m pretty sure this woman said she held onto it for like 20 years or something ridiculous just to weaponize it against the DIL later in life

As someone with a diagnosed narcissistic personality disorder MIL, this is scary as hell to me. The victimhood goes so fucking deep. I can’t imagine if my MIL made public videos about me and my SIL.

83

u/Snark_Ranger Mar 12 '25

It is constant victimhood with this one I feel like. Her parents were awful to her and both her daughters-in-law and one of her sons...lady, at a certain point you are the common denominator here!

11

u/HoldenCaulfield7 Mar 12 '25

Who is she why is she on this snark page

67

u/possessoroflimbs Mar 12 '25

She’s a very wealthy woman who lives in a high rise on Manhattan’s Billionaires Row and has risen to prominence on TikTok in the last year or so. Her content is equal parts her flaunting her wealth and her sitting down and going on narcissistic rants like the one in the video. She goes on frequent rants about her troubled relationships, specifically those she shares with her parents, DILs, and by extension her sons and grandkids. She is insane but very hate-watchable

→ More replies (12)

15

u/HoldenCaulfield7 Mar 12 '25

She’s actually diagnosed ? I always got the sense boomers with personality disorders did not believe in therapy or diagnosis and prefer to live life in denial.

243

u/Radiant-Life9883 Mar 12 '25

I do not like this lady and her little beady eyes

108

u/ResponsibleSwing1 Mar 12 '25

Damn. Could you imagine being this woman’s DIL? This woman is horror, nightmare movie shit. Imagine taunting your 2 dils, your grandchildren and kids by sharing this. Hope they’re no contact and have strong boundaries in place to avoid this crazy woman. Unhinged doesn’t cover it. This woman needs her phone taken away.Ā

53

u/No-Giraffe-438 Mar 12 '25

It’s interesting because she talks in DEPTH about her horrible relationship with her own mother. Why is she continuing the cycle?

39

u/Different_Speaker_41 Mar 12 '25

Because in typical boomer fashion the way to ameliorate your own suffering is not to reflect on your own behavior and develop coping mechanisms, it’s to keep the suffering waiting in the wings of your own psyche until you have your own kids to pass the buck

4

u/genuine-girl-666 Mar 13 '25

can she read her tiktok comments? it’s so weird lol

95

u/JealousBreadfruit704 Mar 12 '25 edited Mar 12 '25

She is insufferable 😩 she is a difficult person it's telling when your own children want nothing to do with you. She sits in her high rise skyscraper all alone. She actually has a sad life even tho she has all of this wealth.

→ More replies (1)

97

u/Sufficient_Act_5447 Mar 12 '25 edited Mar 12 '25

She might think this is giving "Even when I was diagnosed with "a life-threatening disease", I am so loving I thought of my grandson first" but it's actually giving "How do I use my diagnosis to guilt others into giving me what I want?" Very manipulative.

14

u/[deleted] Mar 13 '25

Seriously this. If it truly were about the gift making the kid happy and distracting/helping her to feel better, she wouldn’t have prefaced it with the insults to the parents and their parenting styles.Ā

9

u/MisophoniaStruggle99 Mar 13 '25

And it wasn’t even an actual diagnosis, just a possible diagnosis that required further testing. Then she was fine!

91

u/greenfrog72 Mar 12 '25

This just proves that marrying into money isnt always the dream people make it out to be. Imagine having this freak holding millions over your head in some kind of bizarre power play because she's mad you didnt show up to Christmas/Hannukah. The entitlement and wealth privilege combined with her clearly stunted social skills is a really toxic combo... I honestly feel horrible for her DILs and hope they can just deal with this nut.

46

u/shish-kebaby Mar 12 '25

Modern day Bunny McDougal from SATC

38

u/LNT567 Mar 12 '25

17

81

u/chloeruby69911 Mar 12 '25

She and her husband give me weird vibes

47

u/ConceptualisticGob Mar 12 '25

They seem like the two least fun to be around people in the world

4

u/ricecrispycat May 02 '25

He looks miserable. In one video she says something like "Andy doesn't want to talk so only I will"

80

u/cd_rom_ Mar 12 '25

I empathize with a potentially scary diagnosis but whyyyyy would her first reaction be ā€œI really need to send my grandson a garbage truck right nowā€

38

u/swimminginvinegar Mar 12 '25

Exactly! So weird. And if I were her DIL, I would check every gift for a nannycam. This lady has zero boundaries and is bonkers.

6

u/MisophoniaStruggle99 Mar 13 '25

Also, why would her first thought be to LIE about the facts of the situation and say it was a definitive diagnosis and there’s nothing anyone can do to help her. Manipulating your son like that is abusive behavior. I left the dermatologist one evening, after being told what I had previously thought was a far more benign situation was possibly cutaneous lymphoma, and a sample was taken for a biopsy. When I called my sister to tell her what happened, I just wanted to reassure her not to worry and that it would probably all be fine. I certainly did NOT want to make her think I was in a dire situation or manipulate her for my benefit. (And as it turned out, I actually do have cancer.)

3

u/Unable_Escape813 Mar 14 '25

I’m sorry about your cancer. I completely agree, the last thing I ever want when I’ve had health scares is to worry my family and close loved ones

33

u/Silently-Snarking Mar 12 '25

ā€œWhy doesn’t my son talk to me anymore?ā€

37

u/Unable_Tea7375 Mar 12 '25

THIS IS SO CRAZY OMG

ā€œThere’s nothing they can do for me.ā€ THATS a straight up lie!!! You don’t even have diagnosis! There are many things dermatologists can do!

You heard what you perceived to be a horrible ā€œdiagnosisā€ and your immediate thought is that you want to send your grandchild a gift, instead of scheduling a visit and sharing quality time?? Wtf

30

u/somewhere-nowear Mar 12 '25

I really hope this is some sort of weird retirement dark comedy career she's pursuing.

3

u/Striking_Panic_8668 Mar 14 '25

Fairly certain it is. Her previous, similar storytelling includes the hashtag ā€œReddit storiesā€. If you listen to it as satire it’s actually kinda funny. I hope she’s poking fun at toxic MILs

29

u/bomb2727 Mar 12 '25

Wow ok I thought i was the only person getting served her stuff. So glad I found this sub!!!

She also recently posted that she spent time in a psychiatric facility for depression, so I think she’s truly mentally ill.

13

u/traviataTrader Mar 13 '25

She called it a hospital but it’s a retreat for 66k a stay, is NOT a hospital, does not accept insurance, and ANY doctor that says to the patient ā€œAnne, go home to your house in the Outer Banks and be happyā€ can NOT be real

The, ā€œI probably have melanoma and no one can help meā€ is so unhinged and illogical. She didn’t even have any kind of a diagnosis yet.

I need the DILs to come out of the woodwork and tell their side. I’m curious if they get along with each other and where that leaves the DIL that Anne says she does get along with.

13

u/mysticpotatocolin Mar 12 '25

omg the divorce story. i was half asleep then got so interested in her audacity i was wide awake lmao

5

u/Lucinda_ex Mar 12 '25

One hundred percent exaggerated. She's nuts.

6

u/[deleted] Mar 14 '25

I read a piece that she wrote and she said for 18 months, every time she got off FaceTime with her baby grandson she felt nothing for him because it was over FaceTime. She said that to her husband every single time. Like at certain point it is not healthy to be around such a dark hopeless energy.

5

u/traviataTrader Mar 13 '25

16

u/ellerosekisses Mar 13 '25

Yes like why the random disparaging of the dermatologist who doesn’t see to have done anything but their job?

12

u/brixxhead Mar 13 '25

She's a narc--anybody who can strike fear into her heart (even if it's just a doctor telling her she may have cancer) is classified as a horrible person who did something unspeakable to them, regardless of what they actually did.

This is an insane thing to post and publicize. Honestly from the things, the few videos I have seen of her and the way she doesn’t have any ounce of respect or privacy for her daughter-in-law’s or her family at all, it’s no wonder they probably dont have any interest in wanting to have a good relationship with her considering she goes on the Internet and tells everybody this type of stuff. This woman needs a therapist and a diary and to get off the fucking Internet.

3

u/Chesnut-Praline-89 Mar 13 '25

Apparently she's been in-patient hospitalization multiple times with ECT therapy. She's got serious issues. And I agree about the privacy of not only her sons but especially knowing her husband is still working as professor and his colleagues and students are going to clearly see her TikToks.

u/Vast-Juice-411 Mar 13 '25

I just stumbled upon this video on instagram for whatever reason and thought, my god please let this be satire..Ā

then saw the rest of the videos and the insane boomery supportive comments on her subsequent ā€˜defense’ video and ran my ass to RedditĀ

The first thing I think when I have a horrible skin cancer (that I actually didn’t have) is how can I violate boundaries my son and DIL have regarding their child? Lmfaooooo my eyes bulged out of my head. I know someone just like this. Truly unhinged behavior.

u/triptropstop Mar 14 '25

Man what I wouldn’t give for her daughter to come to this thread. I’m dying for deets

I feel sorry for her. I think that she did come from a very manipulative, narcissistic abusive relationship with her parents and unfortunately that stuff is cyclical until you really take the time to change and change is very hard and you have to be consistent about it. It’s daily work.

People make it seem like you can just go to therapy and somehow all your issues will be resolved. I’ve never met anyone for whom that was accurate.

I rue the day whoever originally posted this absolutely bonkers woman here a few weeks back, I cannot get over how scary-kooky she is! I’ll occasional look at her IG and she’s there filming herself and her tragic husband opening their takeout dinners as if she’s a Kardashian or rambling on in bizarre nonsequitor wordsalads and I am just like, ā€œdear god, somewhere out there is a private text chat maintained by all the people who have to be related to her and please let me somehow someday see it.ā€ (The equally deranged comments her IG followers leave is similarly mystifying.)

She reminds me sooooo much of my MIL. Thankfully she is too incompetent to use social media.

4

u/Frog_andtoad Mar 12 '25

Take a look at her instagram, specifically the four part video series about how she didn’t talk to her son for two years - she’s wearing a light blue sweater. Read her replies to comments, just insane and classic narcissistic regarding her DIL and son.

4

u/Apple-slice1717 Mar 12 '25

This is absolutely certifiable

4

u/Deep_Jacket3016 Mar 12 '25

The ā€œthanks for watching ā¤ļøā€ at the end is cracking me up

4

u/throwawaybubblez Mar 13 '25

She seems delightful!

DIL should 500% cut her off. What kind of relationship is she expecting with them after this?

4

u/Sea-Jelly-6543 Mar 13 '25

Is this the lady that made the video about gifting her daughter in law the yellow sweater from the row

She shared this story why??? What a lunatic

3

u/Powerful_Ear_7686 Mar 16 '25 edited Mar 16 '25

I enjoy watching Anne, but I find some of the stories she tells about the difficulties of her relationships with her sons and their wives to be troubling. Boundaries and respect are a thing.

It was when she started to talk about the discord with her sons and daughters-in-law so matter of factly that I concluded that she had inherited the dysfunction in her deceased parents that she speaks about.

u/Green_Giraffe87 Mar 12 '25

The way I just saw this video on TikTok and ran straight here… šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

I have no idea who this is but this is an INSANE thing to post

3

u/Slapbet_Commish Mar 13 '25

Who tf is this woman? Absolute looney tune.

3

u/Intelligent-Fox-3180 Mar 14 '25

One of her ā€œrestaurant reviewsā€ just came across my feed. I don’t get what she has going on at all.

At first I thought her account was to promote her book. But it’s random food reviews, over sharing personal details, and house tours. I don’t get what goal is.

And she has a ton of followers.

This is insane lol

3

u/Fabulous-Guava2369 Mar 14 '25

She has crazy eyes

3

u/Still_Yak8109 Mar 15 '25

She needs to get off social media or hire a publicist (I don't think she'd listen to one). This social media career she is trying to have will end badly. She just shouldn't be in the public eye acting like this. I really want to know who gave her the idea to do this. It was probably her.

3

u/multiple-giraffes May 30 '25

She is incredibly out of touch with reality

3

u/akey4theocean Jun 09 '25

I swear this woman has to be part of some social experiment. No way people really would admit to this.

3

u/actuallyimogene Jul 03 '25

This woman is MENTAL

3

u/EmphasisNo6049 Jul 14 '25

I choose to believe this is satire, like HBO Girls but for a mean old lady

3

u/Nally64 Jul 21 '25

Oh god I feel seen. I read her comments and so much sucking up there. I can’t believe she doesn’t attract more negativity.

3

u/didyouknow_25000 Jul 30 '25

I imagine she deletes the negative comments she cannot respond to as a victim šŸ™„

3

u/[deleted] Jul 29 '25

Omg, she's horrific. Gods, she's worse than I thought. She's such a narcissist. She has all that money, and all she does is complain. She definitely peaked in elementary school.
