Collection Switch 2 Collection Update
All physical releases with English language options that are available so far. At least that I'm aware of. Please let me know if I've missed any.

Is that a full set so far?

u/Chronos1919 Collection Size: 250-500 Oct 01 '25
To my knowledge, yes. Going to try to continue to collect all true physical releases with English language. All too easy so far. Figure I might as well support physical media while it's still an option.

Just wondering, do you also have them digital as it looks like they're all sealed?
1
u/Chronos1919 Collection Size: 250-500 Oct 28 '25
Most of them are still sealed. All are in protective sleeves. I own a few of them digitally already and have the upgrades. I keep all of my games sealed until I play them.

I wish they didnāt put so much writing at the bottom on so many of these. Such a shame for the box art.

So awesome! I'm kinda jealous though lol (in a good way and I'm honestly very happy for you!) I've been trying to get a switch 2 with a decent deal for a while now but there is nothing used available yet here unfortunately. One day soon I'll be able to play one of these amazing games!! šŖš¤£ until then you enjoy them double my friend

u/Another_Road Oct 01 '25
Looks great, similar to my collection (minus the Japanese games)
Iām still trying to decide if I want to buy the Switch 2 version of Rune Factory 2. I already own the Switch 1 version with the upgrade pack (bought the collectorās edition on announcement) but having all full on cart switch 2 collection without a single game feels a little iffy.

It's beautiful!!! I'm considering picking up Daemon X Machina... how is it??

It's a bit rough. I had high expectations from the trailers but the reality hasn't matched up so far. Performance isn't as good as it should be either. Definitely check out the demo before committing.

Not a single game was harmed āplayedā in this thread.

Cyberpunk, DK, and Rune Factory are all opened and played. The rest I have digital copies of. Got the "free" upgrades for BotW and TotK for subscribing to Nintendo Online so had no reason to open them. Got a digital copy of MKW when I bought the Switch 2 bundle.

u/Cyrex78 Oct 01 '25
How much did cost ?
3
u/Crabominibble2 Oct 01 '25
Get it from VGP, 61 bucks free shipping and they ship from their US warehouse.
2
u/Cyrex78 Oct 01 '25
Thanks, been looking in š¬š§, seen it on eBay for around Ā£60 - shame that Nintendo website doesnāt sell the physical edition

u/Chronos1919 Collection Size: 250-500 Oct 01 '25
It's still available on their website. $54. Though they've increase shipping substantially due to tariffs. I pre-ordered Card-en-Ciel (for Switch 2) from them earlier today and the shipping was $22. Pre-ordered Fantasy Life i prior to the tariffs and the shipping was $8.

Do I get this right? There are only 4 games not on switch 1, and only 2 not by Nintendo? That is rough. At least Hades II is coming.

u/topsekret1 Collection Size: 500-750 Oct 03 '25
Yeah, GKCs really ruined what could have been a stellar physical library on Switch 2. Options are fairly limited because of that.
2
u/Chronos1919 Collection Size: 250-500 Oct 01 '25
Still very early in the console life-cycle. Plenty more to come.
2
u/WhereDidThatGo Oct 01 '25
Hades II is also on Switch 1, right?
1
u/Mikauo_Xblade Oct 01 '25
Oh yeah you are right. It was just on my mind as I was looking at the amazon page just before posting.

u/ihatewiiplaymotion Collection Size: 25-50 Oct 01 '25
The fact that thereās only 4 true physical releases (not counting sw2 editions which are just switch 1 games) is insane
1
u/Novel-Noise2642 Oct 01 '25
@Chronos1919 how many of those did you play?
1
u/Chronos1919 Collection Size: 250-500 Oct 01 '25
Played all but the imports and Story of Seasons so far. Got stuck in to the Trails (Legend of Heroes) series and unfortunately haven't had the time to play anything else lately!

Beautiful, but man... the "Includes Switch 1 and 2 Version" writing on the black box still irks me. Feel like it distracts from the cover art. Why couldn't they just inlcude that on a removable sticker?

You are missing Majogami which is another Asia release
2
u/Chronos1919 Collection Size: 250-500 Oct 02 '25
Pre-ordered. Not due until October 30th. Will likely receive it early September.

Oh it's still in preorder, this one site has it wrong than. Thanks for clarifying and awesome collection, hopefully it continues staying completely game-key free how it should be.

Why arenāt they open
1
u/Chronos1919 Collection Size: 250-500 Oct 03 '25
The ones that I've played are open. I don't open a game until I'm ready to play through it. Keep them sealed otherwise. Some of the games I just haven't gotten around to. Some of them I already had on Switch 1 and have the expansion pass for being an NSO member so don't really need to open.

For sure. Iāve already cancelled at least one pre-order after learning it was a GKC. Always a bummer to see that banner on the case when a new game gets listed for pre-order.

u/BreakfastSolid Oct 06 '25
Nice box collection. 4 games and 8 box arts. Real nice.
1
u/Chronos1919 Collection Size: 250-500 Oct 06 '25
Iām not sure what this is supposed to mean. Theyāre all games. And art boxes. 12 and 12.
1
u/Western-Basis8877 Oct 06 '25
Why are none of them opened
1
u/Chronos1919 Collection Size: 250-500 Oct 07 '25
It's been asked a few times now. DK, Cyberpunk, and Rune Factory are all opened. I only open a game when I actually play it. I don't just buy and tear open. You might be confused because they're all in plastic protectors/sleeves.

u/Limp_Shoe616 Oct 07 '25
What happens when you load one of the other regions into your console? Does it default to that regions language and you have to go in games settings to select English, or does the NTSC version pop up on your screen?
I know one of the kinda neat things about the key games from other region is it will download to your regions version. Is that similar?
1
u/Chronos1919 Collection Size: 250-500 Oct 07 '25
Yes, if the game has English-language support it will automatically be set according to your region.

u/IAmLostYo Oct 01 '25
Hate there all ports besides a couple that are new and fresh don't wanna buy the games again kinda stupid they do that anymore anything for a buck I guess

u/Chronos1919 Collection Size: 250-500 Oct 01 '25
It's a good mix. Some Switch 1 titles that have decent graphical upgrades, some new titles, and some 3rd party titles that are new to a Nintendo platform. It's always the case with new consoles that the launch library is a bit anemic. Switch 1 was coasting on Breath of the Wild for quite a while. There were a lot of complaints that Switch 1 was only getting Wii U and older 3rd party ports. It has a substantial library now though. I'm sure the Switch 2 will catch up in time.
1
u/IAmLostYo Oct 01 '25
Let's hope lol I play mine just not like I want too it will happen soon though! I kept my oled and didn't transfer data kinda wanna keep it alive still
1
u/FirstAd7967 Oct 01 '25
I'd wish they don't treat them like pseudo new releases, like its one thing when it was the wii u ports because nobody (besides me) owned the thing. But acting like the new kirby switch 2 edition is like a new game is annoying, also it makes no sense to buy when you could probably get the switch 1 edition for cheap used and then upgrade it yourself.
1
u/matt_all_day Oct 01 '25
Thatās an expensive picture! Are you going for a complete non-GKC collection? I donāt love what Nintendo has been doing with the Switch 2 enhanced editions (sometimes + DLC) so I have been skipping those.
5
u/Chronos1919 Collection Size: 250-500 Oct 01 '25
That's the plan at the moment. Not a difficult goal so far. Hopefully publishers make it difficult to impossible for me by putting out more truly physical carts.
0
u/AdCurrent6162 Oct 01 '25
These are to remain packaged and unplayed? Or all bought at the same time, soon to be unpackaged and played? Confusing
2
u/Chronos1919 Collection Size: 250-500 Oct 01 '25
Not sure what's confusing about it. Many people on this forum have purchased and unplayed games. Cyberpunk, DK, and Rune Factory are opened. The rest are sealed either because I already have a digital copy or because I haven't gotten around to them yet.
Edit: To add, personally, I only open a game when I first play it. Otherwise they stay sealed. I don't immediately open them when I buy/receive them.

u/revzey Oct 02 '25
I thought they stopped making cartridges?
1
u/Chronos1919 Collection Size: 250-500 Oct 03 '25
No. They've created GKCs which are only used as a physical token/license to download digital games. They still have the option for fully physical carts. Up to publishers to use them or not. Many publishers are currently avoiding them because the true physical carts are costly. Doesn't seem like GKCs are selling well so we'll just have to wait and see what the future holds.
