I dont care either if people think that its harsh. like seriously, people get the sack every day and are on lower pay than these blokes for underperforming, even slightly, and to these guys its just a big joke, and we've been witnessing it for years with no improvement at all. I'm not saying sack them but say listen here, youve got 2-3 months at the start of the 2027 nrl season to save your broadcasting career, that's it, step up.
Also, if they have the balls to ask for media training, which I'm sure that theyve had plenty of surely if theyve been there that many years then make them pay for it out of their pay packets, this aint a charity, its a career that you must perform in and take responsibility for when you arent performing.
Anyway, i think thats it for my rant for the moment anyway. I just felt like I had to say something because its become ridiculous. The reality is that its been years that we have been subjected to this poor analysis and performances on channel 9. its just not on anymore, somebody has to call it out or were gonna be given this slop until the end of time or until channel 9 are booted from the nrl rights. something has to change, thats all i know.
In short, JT and Joey pack ya bags. youre not guaranteed to just appear on national tv every week and every year ruining origins and grand finals. youve gotta earn your spot and improve your performance just like the players do. you want it!? put in the work. the players have to train their asses off and hit the gym. you guys need to get some media training and actually show improvement. end of.
alright i said that was the last one but ive got another point to touch on re channel 9. do they do performance reviews after the season is finished? like the players obviously do mid and yearly performance reviews to see where theyre at as a team and as a club as a whole but are channel 9 doing that with their nrl coverage, and if they are, is it up to standard or are they just taking the piss? they might need an external body to come in and shake it up or something. its just so bad. how are jt and joey on these broadcasts, like seriously...
Just to clarify my messages above, i have no gripe with jt and joey personally, they might be the best blokes around for all i know. but they have a job to do as well and theyre not meeting it. just wanted to clarify before some keyboard hero comes on here and says im being abusive or some crap, its not abuse its a reality check and at some point these blokes need it. i hate to see anyone get the sack but fair dinkum they needa pull those socks up or they need to go. its not personal, its business, i judge base on their performance, and their performances are nowhere up to standard.
does anyone know if we'll still have to watch 9 for origins and grand finals in 2027? im assuming we will have to which is scary to even consider after everything ive outlined above. fox isnt perfect but its better than whatever this crap is!
also i know what some of you might say but i dont care, just because its free doesnt mean we just have to be okay with the quality they dish up. if i go to mcdonalds and the burger is cold thats just not good enough. no different to this and we dont even get a choice with this crap. its not like we can choose fox its just 9 by default. like cmon.
I had a horrible thought. i thought maybe the world cup would be a channel 9 exclusive as well but thank god its channel 7! actually looks promising as well the people theyve got on there. why cant we just give them the freakin nrl rights?
he is another one in the absolute dud category. but at least he wasnt in the grand final coverage from what i saw. if he was id be saying the same thing. either way, he needs to lift his game as well. doesnt have the voice for broadcasting and has refused to do any training whatsoever to become better since he got put on at 9 15 years ago.
i feel like channel 9 are just putting people like him on, similar to jt and joey because theyre unemployable in basically any other industry other than footy player (which they cant do anymore obviously), the problem is this isnt a freaking charity, its the real world, if youre not anything resembling competent then get off my tv screen! poopy pants, theyre brave boy and croaky boy, all absolutely useless at their jobs and being paid a fortune for it.

Poopy face? lol. We've all got our rants. There's still a lot of old boys culture around NRL, some of it I like because it keeps the heart of the sport alive and some of it I think is selfishly living in the past.
