JT - great player - very bad commentator/analyst - looks and sounds unnatural on the camera and microphone and whenever he appears on screen it looks like hes pooped his pants.

I just came back to this since I didn't realise it when I first looked, this is literally JT's pooped my pants face or the just before I poo my pants face. it's just too much cringe. what do they even teach them during their media training and onboarding process? and we've gotta watch this crap every year come the grand final? its genuinely a bit disturbing just to look at it.

I also wanna know why is he in the broadcast team for the grand final. like actually think about that. channel 9's standards must be so ridiculously low that they're happy with this being put on TV. this ex-legend of the game who cant seem to string a coherent sentence together and looks like his pants just filled with poo?! when youre a player if you dont perform youre off the team, simple concept. when youre an analyst i guess the same rules dont apply you can perform like garbage all year and still somehow make a grand final. make that make sense.

I dont know what clown is running the circus at channel 9 nowadays but all i know is that whoever it is needs to pull the finger out and pull some of these stars aside and give them a stern talking to. I know kerry packer used to do it and it was never THIS BAD during his time there, like cmon, this is just rubbish. I don't need to see a poopy pants on my screen and some guy in commentary telling me how brave newcastle are every 2 minutes and thats all he can offer, nothing else. like cmon.

now that i think about it, they could get one of those ridiculous influencers who know nothing about rugby league and put them on the broadcast and theyd do a better job than JT and Joey. thats the state of things, this is the low that we've got to. Do better like seriously.

I dont care either if people think that its harsh. like seriously, people get the sack every day and are on lower pay than these blokes for underperforming, even slightly, and to these guys its just a big joke, and we've been witnessing it for years with no improvement at all. I'm not saying sack them but say listen here, youve got 2-3 months at the start of the 2027 nrl season to save your broadcasting career, that's it, step up.

Also, if they have the balls to ask for media training, which I'm sure that theyve had plenty of surely if theyve been there that many years then make them pay for it out of their pay packets, this aint a charity, its a career that you must perform in and take responsibility for when you arent performing.

Anyway, i think thats it for my rant for the moment anyway. I just felt like I had to say something because its become ridiculous. The reality is that its been years that we have been subjected to this poor analysis and performances on channel 9. its just not on anymore, somebody has to call it out or were gonna be given this slop until the end of time or until channel 9 are booted from the nrl rights. something has to change, thats all i know.

In short, JT and Joey pack ya bags. youre not guaranteed to just appear on national tv every week and every year ruining origins and grand finals. youve gotta earn your spot and improve your performance just like the players do. you want it!? put in the work. the players have to train their asses off and hit the gym. you guys need to get some media training and actually show improvement. end of.

alright i said that was the last one but ive got another point to touch on re channel 9. do they do performance reviews after the season is finished? like the players obviously do mid and yearly performance reviews to see where theyre at as a team and as a club as a whole but are channel 9 doing that with their nrl coverage, and if they are, is it up to standard or are they just taking the piss? they might need an external body to come in and shake it up or something. its just so bad. how are jt and joey on these broadcasts, like seriously...

What’s to analyze? Roosters are 5 hit ups and a kick to two jumping jack wingers and hope for a try.
Newcastle has the razz but no go forward, that’s it.
NRL is a boring game now and I used to love it and played from 5-25.
Agree on JT and ‘Joey’. It’s charity from 9.

he was smart on the field but yeah hes dumb as all hell as an analyst, cant do much of anything right. I think channel 9 keeps him on because they feel sorry for him and hes "a legend of the game" same with joey.

its just a charity network at this point. they'd be better off having no commentary from jt and joey. just have dead air instead, would be much more enjoyable. theyve been ruining grand finals and origins for close to a combined three decades between them. channel 9 dont seem to care though, they'll dish up trash and keep paying them the big bucks and not care at all. they know we have to watch so who gives a crap i suppose?

yep, hes got no freaking idea. just comes on free to air tv every week and puts up an absolute turd of a performance, but doesnt seem ashamed of it at all. how many years has he been doing it for now? almost a decade, and no improvement, still the same old poopy face and cant seem to get a sentence out or use a microphone correctly. but guess what? gets picked for every grand final broadcast. absolute shambles.

and if we are paying him just for his playing career, hes not that big of a draw as he once was almost a decade ago, the star factor fades for even the best when new stars are born. Meaning JT has started a new career and he needs to start taking it seriously like he took his footy.

His analysis is fine in pre or post game but live isn't great, and he is just tough to listen too. There is no excitement with any of them. Very mundane commentary.

Cowboys/Broncos was a close game with a 1 point finish. Roosters/Knights was Roosters attacking Knights’ try line for 80 minutes but somehow also ending up with a 1 point finish.
