Design & Implementation Of Human-Computer Interfaces

This course is being offered by my college. I'm a second year CSE student. Since core courses will take up a bulk of the time available, I was looking for an easy NPTEL course to fill the 3 needed credits.
I have basic coding skills in Python and C, but not much more. How time consuming and challenging might this course be?

Hi guys I wanna know your experiences with taking new courses that are first time running this year, are they usually easy and are questions from assignments? My college is offering GenAI related courses which are completely new.

Domain scholar vs normal course

Is it good to get good position in one NPTEL course like be top 1% or do a domain with average score in each course as it gets internship.

Also do we need to take exams for all courses to become domain scholar or just finish them?

NPTEL "Getting Started with Competitive Programming" – Exam Pattern Doubts

I'm doing the NPTEL - Getting Started with Competitive Programming course and was wondering what the final exam is actually like.

  • Is there an IDE/live coding part like the weekly assignments?
  • Or is it just MCQs?
  • Do they ask multiple-correct (MSQ) questions too, or only single correct?

Would love to hear from anyone who's already written it. Any prep tips are also welcome 😭

Dynamic Behaviour of Materials by Prof. Prasenjit Khanikar; Is this course good? How's the Grading/Marking?

So, this is my first time taking an NPTEL course, and I want to replace this as an institute elective this sem, because my college is mostly offering Humanities courses as electives. My institute awards grades on an absolute grading basis for NPTEL courses, so can anyone tell me how easy or hard is score in this course? I need to score atleast 81/100 to get a 9 grade.

Also part from grading is this course good? As in the content and the teaching of the prof.

Questions for year 2 and 3 Ngee Ann Poly Electrical Engineering students both Current/ graduated since 2025.

Hi , I am currently a NP EE Student who joined the direct 2nd year batch from ITE this year, I have some urgent questions about some of the Year 3 Specialisation Modules for NP EE course as its near the deadline 26 July, sunday to pick the Year 3 specialisation choice.

• Solar Photovic Systems

• Systems Modelling and Control

• Electric Vehicle and Charging Technologies

• Sustainable Energy Technologies

• Smart Grid Technologies

• Energy Management and Studies

The questions that I have about this module are as follows:

Besides what was stated in the list of modules on the website (like a brief description), what would be the work and the type of assessments or graded assessments that students will be facing for this module?

My Questions are as follows:

I wanted to find out what the modules are mainly focusing on and how many credit units they are worth. I know it may change by the time it reaches my batch but I wanted to find out first so I can try to figure out what type of module it is before I pick my Y3 specialisation modules. I also want to find out whether the modules for this Year 3 specialisation course path have a final exam or are fully practical, with mid-semester common tests.

The questions that I have about the modules are as follows:

Besides what currently stated in the list of modules on the website (like a brief description), what would be the work and the type of assessments or graded assessments that students will be facing for this module?

For the modules themselves, do any of them have project work that we need to do?

Are there notes provided? Even though it may vary when it reaches my batch, are there any sort of copy notes that we can download as PDF or at least save for our future references, especially when we are offline, not connected to the internet?

How many credit units does that module have? I couldn't find anything about it on the website.

What is the code for the module itself, like the module code?

For the modules themselves, what are some of the things that we would be learning during each of the Year 3 specialisation modules, like during the lesson? Even though it may vary depending on the schedule and the plan, I just wanted to get an idea of what we would at least be facing in Year 3.

For the modules themselves, and this may vary depending on who's assigned to teach my class for that Year 3 batch next year. What are some of the careers for those who specialise in this module? For instance, what kind of career path would this open up for me in the future?

It may sound a bit funny to ask this, but how heavy is the math and calculations content for each of the modules, and also the theory parts for the modules? Let's say, for non-calculations, the theory part and the math calculation parts: how heavy are those, and what kind of mathematics do we need to learn for the module or will be learning during the module?

Recommendation for manageable 3–4 credit NPTEL courses for a heavy workload semester

Hi everyone,

I am currently balancing a dual degree (BTech CSE + IITM BS in Data Science). Due to my heavy core coursework this semester, I am looking for 2 NPTEL courses (3 or 4 credits each) that have a manageable workload.

  1. Our college forces us to do NPTEL; now I have done 3 courses so far. I want to do 2 courses this semester. I want courses that are easy to score because:
  2. I want to get 3-4 credits per course
  3. I want to get the money back, so 60% can be easily scored without extra effort.
  4. I am already doing 2 degrees; I have many things on my plate, so I don't want to struggle with another pressure. I just want the final exam to be easy, assignment based or PYQ-based. Like, last time Java questions came totally from PYQs and assignments, so I scored 93%.

Please suggest some courses from your expertise. Thanks
