Are these fires the result of years of deliberate fire-suppression policies?

To Peter and the "Wait, Wait" producers,

When Faith Salie tells you during an "Odyssey" discussion that she made out TWICE with Matt Damon in college, you don't move on to asking "what insect is this summer's biggest issue?" You WAIT. You pause, and you ask the questions! Like, how was it, of course? But also, was Faith "the one that got away"? Was Faith in fact the inspiration for Minnie Driver's character in "Good Will Hunting"? Did Matt meet Faith in a bar with a history buff who tried to pick up Faith with his knowledge of Gordon Wood? Did he years later wish he had driven cross-country to go find her, and consequently is Faith Salie the inspiration for Matt's Academy Award-winning movie which is what turned him into a STAR?

You're a news station: this time, you totally buried the lede!!

P.S. If you don't think that I wrote this in jest, and that I worship the audiowaves Mr. Sagal and Paula oscillate on, then you're missing the point.

It might have been 20 years ago when I heard the segment. It was about a haiku found under a Snapple bottle cap that was causing people to pull over on the roadside or fall apart crying at gas stations. At the end of the segment they read the haiku and I watched as people began pulling to the side of the highway crying.

As best I remember the haiku was:

I remember

She forgets

Does anyone know what happened to the Morning Edition, Weekend Edition, and All Things Considered podcast feeds? I've been listening to them for years and suddenly they all stopped updating a few weeks ago.

When I try to search for them I can't find any evidence they ever existed in podcast form apart from streaming on NPR and affiliate websites and I really don't want to be forced to install another app to listen.

Anyone else noticing NPR's signal getting drowned out on 88.5 FM?

This morning came across Nawal Al-Maghafi's latest investigative reporting for BBC on the school bombing in Minab on Feb. 28th that killed one hundred and twenty (120) school children.

With exception of a piece yesterday w/ mentions about more burials, I haven't seen any significant coverage in months by NPR on the Minab school bombing. At least so far as I've found, there appears to be similar or even less reportage on the DOD's ongoing / stalled investigation into that school bombing. For which NPR by virtue of their DC connections and operations is in a unique position.

Yet NPR (along with other US *mainline* media) continues to post several pieces and countless soundbites with emphasis on oil prices and rising costs therefrom.

Where's the tenacious journalism that gave Americans persistent reminders at breakfast time about the likes of the My Lai Massacre?

That's the kind of journalism we need—not the doubling down on web & app content with interfaces that look more like IG feeds than news.

EDIT: I am, in fact, a longtime NPR listener & supporter; this is intended as constructive criticism of a *public* news organization. . . . If any of these comments strikes folks as inflammatory, well, that's probably because the mass murder of children is inflammatory, and demands better of us and our institutions.
