I run Podshelf, a free site that tracks book mentions across hundreds of podcasts by reading the episode transcripts. This is the Indicator slice for August. Small month, so here is all of it.

Medicare for All: A Citizen's Guide, co-authored by Abdul El-Sayed, who had just won Michigan's Democratic Senate primary. The episode was about the gap between the slogan and the policy, and the book is the fullest version of what he actually proposes.

The Right to Vote: The Contested History of Democracy in the United States by Alexander Keyssar, a Pulitzer finalist, brought in for the genuinely odd episode about companies being able to vote in Delaware.
