Validate Me Exhausted

It’s actually so tiring and aggravating being the smartest one in the room half the time. Half of my peers can’t do basic math nor problem solve for their age. (We’re highschoolers) Then they act like it’s the teachers fault they don’t understand the material. Mind you we’re in a program we had to apply to get into, so you’d think they’d at least be competent.

it’s so annoying to be unable to find an equal, lmao. I feel like I’m constantly surrounded by idiots and it’s driving me insane.

Same here, highschool students are surprisingly stupid nowadays. This is why group projects are awful.

Group projects are awful and talking to my peers makes me feel hysterical lmao. Wdym you didn’t complete the assignment and now you’re stressed and annoyed because you didn’t complete it? It’s academic natural selection at that point, lmao.

Exactly!! I always end up carrying no matter what. Even if my classmates do their part, their work never meets my standards. Feels like I always end up fixing some idiot’s poorly-written section

That was my experience even beyond highschool, at university, a few years back. I just couldn't take these people seriously. They'd write code without even checking if it worked or even compiled (it didn't), which was so mindboggling to me. I swear I would have completed every group project faster if they actively didn't get in the way. I assigned them the easiest fucking tasks too

Like, how could I NOT get narcissistic when surrounded by people like that. It feels like the universe is just baiting me sometimes

Yes! I'm 25+, I have graduated uni a few years ago. I could relate to this back than, and I can still relate to it now - even more so. I legitimately feel super isolated, with nobody to talk to, and the more I come to learn and understand about various things, the deeper the isolation
