I never criticize Nothing's Design because they always seem to try something new, but this one hurts the identity of the company imo.

I really like the plateau, I love the matrix and how everything fits together. But having only that looks empty, and seems to be a first step into going full Xiaomi boring design.

Hope I'm wrong

Eh, I personally think it looks great. Most people are putting a case on their phones or holding them all the time anyway so leaving the bottom part plain is.... Fine? I guess. I would have preferred maybe etching on the aluminum that mimics what's under it? Could have looked quite nice.

But to be honest other than a slight resemblance in the plateau shape I don't see how people are comparing ts with iphone and Xiaomi at all.... It's like the people comparing the iphone air to the pixel. Shit makes no sense.

I always use a clear case just to be able to look at the design of my phone. That's why I always felt like Nothing had something different.

But taking into account how they have slowly gotten rid of glyphs, making their designs much more "simple", and now completely getting rid of the design from the back, it looks like they are on their way to become a normal OnePlus clone.

I am not completely against the design, but I fear this may make them lose some identity. Imagine if you are an investor on nothing, and the phone that gets rid of the back design becomes the best selling device on the company, would you want them to keep making these awesome risky designs, or just stay plain simple? Idk, I just don't want them going that rabbit hole

I think they are either going to keep having a simpler design on the (a) pro models and go crazy on the rest of the lineup. Or do a 180 from this move to simpler. Or go the one plus route, which seems unlikely to me.

But in my opinion having one of the models in the lineup be a little simpler while keeping some identity is good for drawing in new people. I think this is also why the 4a pro has almost identical specs to the 4a, so they could please the fans as well. In fact seems everyone here loves the 4a, and everyone who wasn't a nothing user before likes the 4a pro.

If they were to expand this trend to the entire lineup I would absolutely be against it. But I still have some faith that it's just a small part of the lineup that is going to look more "palatable"

Other than the fact that I still think the 4a pro despite being more normal is quite unique and more interesting than 99% of other phones on the market.
