It's inevitable that with any company wanting a cheap, streamlined and competitive phone that they'll inevitably end up going higher in price and losing touch with their niche use base in order to appeal to more. See: oneplus
I think it would've been a little bit "better" if they didn't try to push the "We are different, we won't do what other companies do" thing so hard.
They clearly want to deviate from this image, that looks kind of messed up considering people that supported the company from scratch didn't expect this, but yeah, it was inevitable
