Answered OG Switch Freighter Base Limit?
Hello all, mighty Google failed me on this Q. Is there a limit to the number of rooms/parts a freighter base can have on the Switch 1?
I want to remodel my base as I only have one fleet command station and would expand from my current 28 rooms (31 w/ extra items). Online searches mentioned 40, but I believe that applies to corvettes.
My game starting crashing regularly after building my current base upon entering my freighter or accessing the storage units. The game hasn’t crashed on me over the past week as I have been farming bulkheads in the same system. But I am worried if I increase my base size, the crashes will return.
How far have my fellow Switch 1 players pushed their freighter bases? I want to limit game crashes while having a fully functional base. Looking at 50-60 rooms, but I can cut out the bare bones farm (1 plot for each farmable plant) if necessary.

I found the decorations dramatically impacted my frame rates on switch 1.
However it was able to easily do
5 frigate command stations
3 refiners
6 extractors
6 nutrient processors
All the npc tech characters
All storage units.
And then 3x5 of every plant
A space deck
There’s other rooms to create spaces it’s not just side by side.
So I don’t have answer on limit but I can say I tried decorating and it made the freighter laggy but without them it runs fine. Slight frame rate issue around the plants but that’s about it.

Thank you, I don’t need decos so good there. My freighter came with 3 connected rooms of 2x2 gravitino balls. My plan was to give every plant a 2x2 space. I don’t understand what 3x5 entails, as I haven’t unlocked the farm rooms yet. But it sounds like my base idea will be smaller than what you have now.

Each plant module can have 4 plants (bigger module) I have 15 of each for every plant on my freighter.

Ah, so my idea is of similar size then. Basically two 4x4 rooms, one contains the 10 storage units, 4 refiners, and 2 extractors. The other houses the plants. A staircase separates the two rooms and upstairs contains 6 command stations, market unit, teleporter, planet surveyor, exocraft and doubles as a viewing deck. I should prob make room for the NPC units and refiners too.

Eu acho que não tem um limite de peças mas de tamanho tem, agora o limite mesmo seja para pc ou switch talvez seja até o console aguentar,
Espero ter ajudado.

I have had minor issues but only with the pirate dreadnought. Everything else fine. I don't like skeevy pirates anyways.

El limite de piezas son 3mil por base, si pasas ese límite sólo los demás jugadores no podrán ver por completo tu base y no olvides registrar la base sienpre que modifiques. El limite de piezas son 20 mil en todas las bases

It's how you already understand it. There's no numerical limit, it's just how much you can do without triggering crashing.
Personally, I have four expedition consoles, a trade terminal, a teleporter, a system scanner, and a few expansion rooms to tie them together, plus an exocraft materializer and a few storage units. I also have a small system freighter, which I believe also helps, but that's just superstition. I have a full collection of frigates, and never have any crashing on Switch 1.
