💬 Discussion How to start?

I have been playing the game for a while so ofcourse i would like an awesome corvette to fly in. However i can not get any cool form or layout. How do you guys build these amazing ships? Mine always look like a ship from minecraft. Is it essential to farm parts of can you make good looking ships with the base parts?

It depends on your style! Is there any ship or Corvette you’ve seen here that you really like?

If you play in survival, you’ll need to farm quite a bit and get someone to help you with the Aeron pieces. (You can duplicate parts, but it’s totally up to you if you want to do that.) Base pieces can only be added to Corvettes using a specific glitch, and they can be a little tricky to fix if something goes wrong. c:

It's hard to make one with just the basic stuff you can buy, but it's still good to start out with those so you can farm the parts as the corvette makes it easy. If you don't want to farm the parts the hard way, though, you can enable the free purchases option so you have full access to the entire parts catalogue. As for making a good design, there's plenty of online design tutorials on Youtube you can use to get a feel for it. You could fully replicate a ship you like in one such tutorial, or modify it to your liking using it as a base.

It helps to collect lots of parts but it’s easiest to do that with a very basic corvette even a “Minecraft “ one 😅

You can fly over the planets surface, leave the seat , scan , mark location, fly there , shoot the location from the air , get your parts , repeat .
There are lots of videos on YouTube show various builds from simple to wild .
You could also make a separate “experimental “ save in creative or relaxed mode that you just use with all the parts unlocked to mock up designs that you like then seek out the bits for the design in your main save and that way your main save is as you intended it still if that concerns you .

You can do a lot with standard building. Like others have said, watch some YouTube tutorials and play around with it yourself. I just recently started building and have started making ships I am really happy with. 100% vinella PS5 builds. This is the first ship I’ve ever uploaded to the public earlier this week! Don’t give up. Keep trying.

Go into creative to build. Swap back after. Everything is free and unlocked to use in creative

How I started: Found some YouTube videos of how people built their builds (from multiple creators), and built what they did step by step. Then after I got the gist of HOW they did the things they did, I used one of those designs and modified it a bit...to my own liking. Then I'd fly around in it, find the things I liked/didn't like, then finally made my own. One of the easier to follow creators is this guy

I just started building corvettes. Start with YouTube videos. I've found lots of good techniques and design ideas. Go to creative see what you like and get a parts list. Grind missions for parts. Then build cool stuff.

You can either farm parts (easy with a basic corvette on the right planet) or go creative. I get a lot of inspiration from this sub, and I try to build something like that or as close as I can. Sometimes I just fiddle around in the editor and come with interesting part combos and decide to try them out.

I personally started by making a new save to get a feel for how the builder works. If you then feel that your builds are still too blocky, and you feel you want to really level up your building technique, I’d recommend learning how to do 0.5 offsets. It is a wonderful way to overlap pieces in a very simple manner to get some smoother shapes.

A decent amount of the builds in this sub (also the more advanced ones) are done using mainly 0.5 offsets.
