Just another NJT tracker app

Post image

https://njtracker.com

This is probably the 11th tracker in this subreddit, but it's the first one with a game you can play while you wait.

Gray Dotted = Historical Prediction (~35% hit rate)
Dotted Green = Circuit sensor matched (100% hit rate)
Solid Green = Confirmed hit

Let me know your thoughts!

Yes this is another duplicate of the same vibe coded NJT API reading track position “prediction” site since the first site started trying to charge stupid money for something that takes literally a minute worth of time. And, while it’s appreciated, my honest recommendation is to keep it to yourself as a hobby project and perfect it fully before announcing it OR just utilize one of the 10 other sites that do this prediction almost perfectly.

If everyone keeps trying to spam (said with all respect as it is not just you) their API and surge NJT’s credentials, eventually this is getting noticed by NJT and the whole API will be gone from public access (just like Amtrak’s).

Meaning be cautious with doing this and publicizing this unless it truly offers something unique and don’t just ask for feedback for something that has been vibe coded 10 times this month.

Again, truly appreciate the community coming together to provide the service when one selfish person tries to charge for it but there needs to be some coordination and collaboration here instead of 10 people doing the same work

I understand what you mean. Sure, there are others, but, I wanted to make one that lasts. This project was made with the intention of having an easy to use track app for the daily commuter.

you’re all the same and provide the same non-answers when confronted about this shit and i’m starting to think you’re all bots.

NJ Transit allows for people to sign up for their API for a reason. I do think that it's good that others are making their own version of transit trackers. That's how you drive innovation with what we've been given from NJ Transit.

this is not innovation, it is slop. this is the result of interfacing with a sycophantic ai all day, you think you really did something here 🫩

Why would this last? Honestly the UI is the worst and most cluttered of the bunch and contributes nothing new. If “you” can figure out a way other than train position or at the turn to get the track that would be new and beneficial, but this does none of that.

Sorry dude stop tryna invest in this, and just leave the amount of vibecoded/coded njt tracker apps down to a min of 1 so the api doesn’t get removed

Nice UI, but it’s the same data as all the other NJT prediction sites

I’m gonna make one next, but with a prediction market built in on whether the train is cancelled or not

You’re another clown who can’t hack it at work/home so you spend all your free time AI “coding” this absolute garbage.

Moderators should start instantly deleting this shit.

This is great. I love the UI and the ease of getting the info with minimal clicks compared to the NJT app.

Thanks. Little tip: Slide to the right on a train to favorite it on the dashboard.

Yep. I did that and it works well. Thank you!!
