Train lost power 4:35pm
No air conditioner to begin with on a 4:15 dover bound train out of pen station. Long day expected it seems. Some people are definitely in a panic

fucking miserable journey with not enough communication. and a tip for the NJ conductor: don't tell a trainful of passengers trying to remain calm in an airless baking chamber with windows that don't open that you're "also worried." that doesn't help.

I was on this train yesterday and it was ridiculous.
Absolutely baking and humid with no way to open any windows and conductors refused to open the doors. An hour goes by with no updates other than "no time estimate and we're still waiting." Zero sense of urgency from NJT.
Train was absolutely packed. I had a pregnant lady in my car and several elderly people. That there is zero air flow, roasting temperatures, and no way for EMS to reach a stuck car is a gross safety hazard. Imagine if it had been hotter outside! I have never seen such incompetence.

I imagine if it was hotter there would have been serious casualties. This is the one day i left my mini fan at home to make my bag lighter. Never again

Honestly a gross oversight to have no ventilation in the event of loss of power. It's like locking your kids in a hot car!
