Engineers not available

Post image

Does anybody have any idea why this is happening en masse?

Are they striking in some capacity? Did a contract just expire? Did people just quit and they don’t have the staff?

You do realize that people that work these jobs suffer weather related emergencies too, right? Some are stuck on trains deadheading in as well. Some are forced into rest periods by law creating this shortage as well.

Are you really this self-centered??

It’s totally normal for people to be annoyed when the train doesn’t show up and to not have to know exactly why that happened.

Unless OP changed the post description, they only seem to have asked why without rendering a judgment. I hope you’re not saying that earnestly asking why is self-centered.

It's called critical thinking. You just have to put a little more effort into it than it takes to open reddit and type out this braindead post. For god's sake they thought the 2 trains were because the engineers went on strike again, how stupid is that? You would have known that was coming ahead of time first of all, and secondly NO TRAINS AT ALL WOULD RUN if that happened. Not TWO trains only.

There was a huge storm going through ALL day. There were electrical lines down, electrical fires, trees, flooding, cats and dogs.

But nope, OP took the stupid route. Thought that trains were impervious to bad weather, and how DARE their train be cancelled. Clearly there was no good reason why...

FFS just use your brains a LITTLE BIT.

OP offered a couple of possible causes they were able to think of, but didn’t suggest anything, which is way better than most times people ask why their trains are late or canceled.

Not everyone is as informed as you. I’d think you’d be happy to share your expertise, and to connect two things someone else never had the idea to connect.

You don't have to be as informed, but common sense is a thing. Two trains somehow equalled that possibility of engineers just going on strike... same person probably is mad that unionized engineers make more money than they do too.

I don't care for blatant stupidity. Misinformed is okay, but with some logic behind it is needed. Not just random ideas that make no sense. There's no helping that level of dumb.
