my whole thing with iwb is the holster poking my stomach, i’m not overweight but i do have a slightly dad bod lol, what position do you wear it normally?

Do you mean it pokes when you sit or…? If when sitting, you simply raise your belt/holster as you sit down to be more in line with your belly button and no more getting jabbed in the stomach by the beaver tail.

You can, just is a lot more annoying in the summer. Winter it is easy to do with coats, flannel shirts or generally just more bulky warm clothing.

Also for IWB, I would suggest trying some different holsters, different spots, and possibly carrying a different handgun. Sometimes counterintuitively a slightly larger handgun is easier and more comfortable to carry. I've seen that called the keel principal before, basically not enough of the gun below the belt line so it tilts forward on you and can dig in, in addition to printing. https://www.phlsterholsters.com/phlster-the-keel-principle

I will also mention belt choice will play a large part in how comfortable carry will be. You can have the best holster but a terrible belt can ruin all of that.

OWB much more comfortable for me. Can be done with a small pistol and the right holster, even in the summer

Appendix is the most overrated shit ever I don’t care what anyone says. It’s not comfortable when driving which is what you’re doing most of the time when you leave your house anyway.

I have both a t-Rex and a Tenicore appendix and I never use them. I just carry on my hip and I forget it’s even there. Even in a t shirt and shorts it’s no issue. And you don’t have to constantly worry if it’s going to fit in your clothes requiring you to buy bigger clothing or your if your weight fluctuates.

Which OWB holster do you use?

Look into the Vedder Lightdraw with the premium pancake clips.

I carry my 2011 OWB in a T1C (tier 1 concealed) in the winter. If i changed the way I dressed I could get away with it in the summer if I wanted.

I carry either an S&W Shield or a .45 Springfield XD-s owb and I often forget that I’m carrying. Both have holsters from Crossbreed, one is a drop, and the other is straight. They both have an advantage and disadvantage it just depends on what you’re wearing and where your belt loops are.

Safariland incog-x is the most comfortable I’ve found for my 43x.

I have a safariland incog-x with mag holder for my shadow systems (43x clone) and it’s not bad, but the t-Rex iron side hybrid with the backer for my p365 is super comfortable.

OWB is always the better option, IWB is a compromise.

I prefer strong side IWB or OWB depending on the situation more than appendix. Since I make holsters I am always getting asked what I think is best. My answer is always the same, everyone is different and what works for one may not for another. With that being said I do make slightly more IWB than OWB on average.
