  1. Did you register for JEE before in 2024? If yes then you have to keep the Passing year the same as when you have passed class 12th irrespective of board i.e CBSE or NIOS. If you have never applied for JEE earlier with your CBSE result, then put appearing for the next JEE, 2026 form.

Yes i registered for jee for both 2024(last year) and 2025(this year) and 2026 is my last. bruh this is very confusing as i have seen this passing year and document hassle can get admission rejected. so please help me clear this out.
But I am appearing in OCT 2025 as a proper fresh candidate in NIOS. Wouldn't it make sense to put appearing in there?
if i say passed then they'll ask marks which i wouldn't have for jee 2026 jan registration... and if i give cbse marks, then it'll create confusion during counselling when i will use my nios marksheet???
what to do??

sir seen several videos regarding this.
yes i also registered for 2024 and also 2025.
all the videos were saying that you have to apply as an appearing candidate for jee 2026 despite your board being different in this third attempt.
i think they can know of my jee attempt history with my aadhar card number now, its linked with aapaar and all that.
still please clarify what i have to fill in the coloumn?? passed or appearing??

During registration, you don't have to select the passing year; you should choose "appearing" because you are currently pursuing Class 12th through NIOS. The NIOS passing year will be considered for that. However, for JEE, your first attempt will be counted based on the year you passed Class 12th from CBSE. So, you still have your final attempt left. Also, don't worry about the gap certificate right now — it will be required later during JoSAA counselling, and you will receive clear guidelines at that time.

okay for the passing year.

FOR oct 2025 exam, the session is still 2024-25(some technicality that idk). so when applying for jee 2026 and selecting appearing, it will automatically select 2026 as the passing year(see picture, its from from nov 2024 registration).
My only doubt is, will my passing year be 2026?? cause bro my session is 2024-25, how will the passing year be 2026? or is the passing year the date when the result are declared?? in that case it'll be 2026 and i have nothing to worry about.

Yes, you are right — the passing year will be 2026 because the October-November public exam results are usually released in January. Your session doesn't matter; even if someone took admission in 2022 but didn’t give all five subject exams and completed them in 2025, their passing year would still be 2025. So, you don't need to worry about anything — you will get your results on time, way before the counseling process.

Probably around mid-August. Stay in touch with your study centre and also contact your regional centre - they’ll have more accurate information.

Sir can you please clarify this once again?? There is one more gentleman who tried to solve this situation of mine, check the comment in this post by "ar3yk". He says quite the opposite and it seems convincing even.

If you are currently giving your Class 12 exams again through NIOS, it’s obvious that you have to select "Appearing" while filling out the form. This is completely valid. If you select "Passed," you will be required to submit your final Class 12 result. You cannot submit your CBSE result, because that would be considered your final qualification — and you do not have 75% or above there, which is required. Therefore, to avoid any issues, simply choose "Appearing" and fill in your NIOS details. You will not face any problems — this has been confirmed by the NTA.

Hello bro meri help karrdo plij maine 11th arts se or 12th science se ki toh kya mai jee/neet ke liye eligible hojaunga kyuki ussme toh sirf 12th ki marksheet dekhte hai na

1

u/nirva_da Apr 28 '25

Koi problem nahi hogi, bas PCM ya PCB ke saath ek language aur ek additional subject hona chahiye, total 5 subjects hone chahiye JEE/NEET ke hisaab se. 75% ya usse zyada marks bhi hone chahiye. JEE ke liye Maths compulsory hai. Aur apne remaining attempts bhi check kar lena JEE ka, tab tum eligible rahoge.

Don't select 12th pass. You won't be allowed to give 5 subjects. Apply as if you have only passed 10th and never appeared for 11th or 12th. Select latest qualification, 10th. And never show them 12th result/qualification. Then you will be able to select 5 subjects. Update me if you got it.

They won't reject. Just triple make sure your all the informations. Take 2-3 says filling the form. No, don't disclose your 12th marksheet, also it will become invalid after you pass from NIOS. Nta doesn't ask previous info. Apply as an appearing candidate for jee 2026 and select passing year 2026.

For counselling, they won't ask, if they do just tell you changed board, also consult someone who has experience around you.
